Just for clarity, are you talking about Steve Parish ? You know, the self made millionaire from Forest Hill ? NEILLO, I was about to type similar words. I just don't understand the negative views of our chairman expressed by some folk on here. He has worked wonders for our club and continues to be a great ambassador for both Palace and football generally. As for his business acumen, his wealth speaks volumes. Thanks for looking after our club Mr P.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Arsenal sold Highbury, a huge development plot in Islington where land values are amongst the highest in the world, in order to build the Emirates. On top of that, the move famously required a debt repayment schedule that rendered the club uncompetitive (relative to previous eras) for 20 years. By the end of that period Arsenal fans were regularly protesting against the ownership and their most successful ever manager. Yes, arsenal built a new stadium, but you fail to mention that it cost them dearly. Spurs have a great ground. Go and ask their fans if its taken the team to a new level, and if they are happy with their clubs transfer spending, ambition etc. They make the moaners on here seem supportive. Brentford have built a ground that holds 10,000 fewer than ours does already. Fair play to them for doing it, but they first announced their intentions to build in 2002, so they are hardly operating at a pace, or producing an end result that we should be envious of. Fulham is a similar story - they proposed a new ground on the same spot over 20 years ago, and the whole project stalled and flopped in the end. They've built a new stand (and have no plans for further significant redevelopment) just to have a capacity fractionally above our current one. West ham were given a free stadium, as everyone knows. We've only owned our ground for a decade. It hadn't had a lick of paint since the mid 90s. I trust the new stand will be built because under the same owners we've done such great things with the training ground and academy, again all from scratch. It's not just a matter of negotiations with sainsburys, as anyone bothered to follow the issues around the planning application knows, but even if it was, do you know what price they've asked for? Unless you do you are, once again, criticising without knowledge. There's a lot of excuses why they've managed it and we haven't. The bottom line is, they have, we haven't. Plus what was Wimbledons ? Maybe if I keep repeating it, this will sink in ; What part of you fails to understand that not all clubs are, or can be run, in the same way ? Are you advocating a move from Selhurst Park ? Because of the clubs you mention, only Fulham have re-developed an existing stadium. And if you bothered to check your facts, ( something it seems you're not too keen on ) you will find that a deal was reported as struck with Sainsburys in December 2022 Edited by NEILLO (02 Sep 2023 1.32pm) Have you got a link ?

If my glass is half empty yours is full of piss Not a very nice think to say, along with silly Hodgson resigning comment, are you still a Mob, or do you leave it to grand master Guntrisoft who says what people can and cant say, despite having not posted anything about the Palace since at least Nov 22
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Wealth doesn't speak volumes at all that is your view because you clearly have none. SP has made most of his wealth while working at Palace with his sub companies as well. Simon Jordan has more wealth.

Very very rude and am very disappointed in you .

It seems there is quite a divide between those who, like myself, feel as though we've been significantly let down in that window and those who don't. The coming weeks will show who is correct but my suspicion is that we will witness a lot of solid work in defense and midfield which is let down by the efforts up front. And that is going to be frustrating to watch.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

And that is going to be frustrating to watch. As a probably very poor attempt Canterbury, and not aimed at you just general comment, any on here with very good and selective memory will remember I used to have a good b!tch and moan every transfer window, dummy and toys fully out. That was all a result of worry though which I wouldn’t do if I didn’t care passionately for the club. I try not to now, for my own sake if no one else’s. I’d strongly urge others not to get ‘too’ wound up for the same reason but equally do not begrudge them beyond anything completely ridiculous. It is what it is and we’ll wait til January to see what the situation is and therefore what the transfer activity will be. Right now I’m very far from doing cartwheels, but I’m not as concerned as I used to be (when relegation was far more possible). I’m guessing our situation won’t be too dire by then and that will suffice for Parish and co. Would be nice if Franca and Olise return to the fold following us not doing too badly (mid-table) and that in itself may be quite promising.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
