I'm only worrying out loud, but I hope this lack of announcement on the stand doesn't mean that they are holding it back to counter any bad news about player sales, or simply because they need some cash from them to go ahead. Are there still any reasons why this thing can't get built now?

Are there still any reasons why this thing can't get built now? I heard a rumour that one of the builders bidding has now pulled out of the UK. I heard a second rumour that work is due to start in September which makes sense. Assuming we did not sign contracts until we were safe from relegation the builders will require notice to hire staff, sub contracters and order materials. So September would make sense. Just a rumour.

If the new stand does move forward how will the capacity be affected?.

Just a rumour. That sounds plausable, however Parish said the stand woud go ahead relegation or not. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (03 Jun 2024 2.52pm)

He will be unwilling to loan or underwrite loans on a personal basis if he is selling. This will also have an effect to an extent on incoming transfers too. He has in past been more interested in football side of things with other 2 Americans more interested in infrastructure. I suspect that Glasner has been made promises on recruitment and that the transfer budget may now receive priority over infrastructure until Textor situation resolved possibly by other 2 loaning or underwriting the commercial loans.

Why would Textor make the club look less appealing if he wants to sell his shares? Would he make life difficult? I suppose it woulds be in both parties interests if Textor was to get out sooner. That would make he and the club less likely to make any negative noises around the current situation.

It will make no difference to price of his shares if it has started or not. Planning permission has been granted and that will help his price. If the rest of the shareholders want to start without him that is fine I just don't think they will. I don't think he will make life difficult but if he is buying Everton he can not currently have interest in both clubs. They need money urgently so press are reporting he is asking for permission to start process while shares in Palace are sold. If EPL agree then he must not be part of decision making processes at Palace in interim in particular infrastructure projects and transfers I wonder if current Everton owner may be willing to buy his Palace shares so Everton processes can start. His interest and ours is that if he is going the quicker it happens the better

Food for thought. It would be good to hear from someone who has some inside information so we might know if the Textor situation is impacting on the timetable.

According to The Athletic, preliminary work has started in preparation for the new stand. This work involves: 1. Temporary buildings housing the Away dressing room and offices are in the process of being dismantled. 2. "The away dressing rooms will move to underneath the Holmesdale, where £1million (.3m) is being spent on water retention tanks to drain water away from the flooded basement" 3. Space under another tier of the Holmesdale could well be used as a car park given that the existing car park will disappear when building work starts later this year. Part of that space will also house a new kitchen. 4. New offices being relocated to back of Whitehorse Lane stand where Crystals Nightclub was. Edited by doombear (14 Jun 2024 9.33am)

The housing situation needs sorting but this is encouraging. Should be great.
