Marvellous Modric at 37 sinks Brazil with his mates.

Hardly ever puts a foot wrong, an artist with the football.

He is quite phenomenal has to be said. The Spuds/Croatia link is not endearing but I've a huge amount of respect for him. Should probably tell him that as it's rumoured he's dying to know

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Not about the football but this is somewhat suspicious. US journalist who had worn a rainbow shirt, as his brother is gay. Also been critical of migrant workers conditions. Laughing one minute the next he is dead

This is the bbc's take/report on it . . . [Link]

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

The England selection is the obvious one. Best of luck anyway.

Being beaten by poor refereeing and VAR not overturning a definite penalty. Not sure why it took 4 fouls by Griezemann before he’s booked. Each one was to stop a break. Still we should have done the same before they scored.

At half time and a familiar feeling of hard luck stories at World Cup knockout games. Looked a clear foul on Saka and a clear foul on Kane. And what is making it worse is listening to the ITV commentators.

But you know that the first time an England player does so, the yellow card will be out of the referee's pocket as though it's spring-loaded. This match is a lot like watching Palace (England) v Liverpool.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

To me ageing eyes it appeared that contact was made just outside the box.
Overall, disappointing from England.

And knowing Mbappe plays for a club owned byQatari Royal Family!
Kane does go down easily but that was as clear a penalty that I have seen at the WC, as was the foul on Saka
