Sound like you're a little bitter & jealous of their achievements. On the contrary. I would celebrate anyone doing well for themselves, providing it’s by legal means, and if that includes helping others to a better life then all the better.

I don’t. My interest is in seeing working class and underprivileged people doing well whatever their racial background.

Many years ago as a trainee sales guy I was in an ASDA in Stoke ( or maybe Crewe) it was a long time ago - I was with another junior colleague ( I am white & my colleague happened to be Black) we were together pitching a product to the store buyer, I said my bit, my mate said his bit, the store manager still wasnt convinced, my mate then spoke up and said - Originally posted by chris123
There was a Leicester building firm that had 'You've tried the cowboys - now try the Indians' on their vans.

Perhaps Parliament might open an inquiry into the lack of diversity in Indian restaurants. After all I eat in plenty of European style ones, French, Italian etc. and more often than not am served by someone who is not from that culture.Yet for some reason Curry houses are mono culture

No. Don’t deflect. The first part of the post You’re clearly trying to equate Pommie / Pom with the multiple racist terms that Rafiq was called, ergo passing it all off under one umbrella of bantz innit. Just a bit of banta huh huh huh. Everywon larvae’s banta dahnt they. It’s ahhnly baaanta mate. Yeeeeah, BANTAAAA (Larvae was a pretty good autocorrect) Perhaps not as explicitly as another on here but that’s how it’s coming across. I really don’t understand how hard it is to make the distinction between the two - the apparent view is that it’s only racist when someone takes offence at it. If it’s not taken as offensive then it’s fine. So, that’s not really how it works now is it? Again, not really much there that’s that hard to grasp.
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

Yet again, you're mixing 'banta' stereotypes and nationality based jokes (fine) in with racist terms (not fine) and saying they're all fair game and effectively the same level. Really? Muddled. Edited by SW19 CPFC (17 Nov 2021 11.47pm) You just don't understand what I'm saying. I can't be bothered to repeat myself again.

Well in a closed environment like school in that era, no one would protect you, not teachers or parents, because they came from a different era when name calling was not considered a big deal. It had to be endured, and I suppose in the end it makes you stronger.
