No real desire to make anything of his career. Signed a longish contract extension, at a club he's not really played much for, and wont moving forward. He could be a free agent now with his pick of clubs. Instead Arsenal will demand a decent fee, and if not met, will jsut keep him as cover.

He wouldn’t be my first choice of strikers. For what I’ve seen he’s a bit hit and hope in front of goal. Gets plenty of shots off but never seems to aim or place them. Hits the keeper too much for me. Benteke was like that. The best strikers glance up just before the shot and then readjust their angle marginally in a split second to find the net/space to the side of the keeper.

I think he's decent, and he could do with a couple of good seasons at a smaller club - he's never going to be the main man at a club like Arsenal. We'd be better off with a promising young understudy to Mateta rather than direct competition - you couldn't really replace Edouard with Nketiah, he would be far less willing to warm the bench and wait his turn. Nketiah could be a replacement for JP if he decides to go but it would be cheaper and better if we could groom a striker to replace him - I have no idea who but I'm sure Ollie will have an idea or two.

We've been linked with him for several windows now and he's one that I've never been remotely excited about, even when we desperate for a striker who could score. At this point I'll have faith in anybody that Freedman purchases to be honest but my suspicion is that Nketiah links are probably down to his agent.

He should be much cheaper than what's being touted. If he stays at Arsenal another season, he'll probably leave on a free or minimal fee after another bit part campaign. They clearly don't rate him as a starter. He could do the same role here, if the rumours of us selling Édouard are correct. I wouldn't want us to pay what is asked. If he were under 20 mil them maybe.
