I want Lampard. We need to rebuild our squad with younger players and he needs to prove he can cut it in the prem. Could be the perfect fit. Chelsea was a massive task and a massive ask for him. Top 4 expectations, big money players and big egos to match. But Palace will be a different proposition. Mid table safety and some exciting football will be deemed a success. Let's hope it's not Frank N Stein

Ah! Valerian Ishmael. A legend for us as a player, just imagine what he might achieve as a manager.

When Lampard got the boot from Chelsea there was a lot of noise about disharmony in the squad which does call into question his man management skills. For a club our size it is vital to have a good team spirit as often that is called upon when our opponents have overwhelmingly better players. One thing you could say about Roy is that rarely did you hear noises about disquiet in the squad. That is a similar trait of Dyche who has spoken about the importance he and his team place on team building and getting the right personalities into the squad. Ultimately the decision will likely be weighted according to how Parish wants to take the club forward. Dyche, to my mind, would be evolution continuing on from the work Roy has done, whereas a Lampard or a Howe would be a revolution. As painful as it may be to do so, you look at how Brighton have changed from a pragmatic Hughton team to Potterball and you can see it is feasible, but it does take some significant investment. Given 12 players are out of contract this summer maybe we are going to see a revolution? With Dyche being coy and no one else giving much away who bloody knows! Whoever it is will have my support, even if it's John Terry Managing a big club with many expensive players and egos, takes a certain type of manager. It doesn’t mean if you fail at big club you are a bad manager, recent examples Roy at Liverpool and Moyes at Utd. Both have gone on to have successful periods, they are more comfortable not dealing with big egos. Jury out on Lampards ability, but he seems the best option.

My theory is that the new man will be announced early next week as he will need to pick who he would like to keep before contracts run out at the end of June.
