Always over a good conspiracy theory so going to put an 'out there' theory forwards. And before I get shot down I know it contray to previous posts and positions I have taken lol. SP has always liked Dyche and possibly regrets missing the opportunity to get him when he was swayed bt FDB's presentation at interview of a new sexy way of Palace playing with what we had and when that proved to be a fools errand Dyche was then unavailable and we got Roy. Dyche is now more available than he was due to his falling out of love with the Burnley board over investment. But, problem is SP can't attract Dyche if there is no real war chest. So SP uses the 7 (soon to be defeats in a row to have showdown talks with Roy. Get the signing of a younger player over the line quickly (the first time we have done do in a very very long time) to give the impression the club wants to sign new and exciting young talent and leak to press the club is frustrated the manager is only wanting older experienced players. That then changes the perception of the narrative to the outside world and may con other managers (Dyche) that the club has more going for it than it really does. Conspiracy theories - bring them on! They're more fun than the dross we've been watching for much of the season.

You would hope the club would already have a managerial plan in place for the new season.

I have had a number of phone calls today to the extent that I have had to place my phone in 'Vibrate' mode due to the fact that the incessant ringtones have raised the hackles of my dear wife! I have advised her to go out with her mask and do some shopping!!

The signings of the like of McCarthy and Kouyate, would, after a season of ineffective performances, make one think twice about getting the chequebook out for this particular manager and save it for the next one.

I think the issue with between Roy and Parish is clear. A friend of my flatmate came round last night. She was upset that her boyfriend of quite some time only meets her once a week and won't invest more in their relationship. She keeps giving him one more chance, he agrees to everything then does nothing. She keeps going round for their once a week visit. The worst that can happen for him is that she walks off, and he doesn't like her that much anyway so no bit loss for him. Otherwise, he keeps getting an easy shag every Wednesday without having to lift a finger... she also likes going to Palace matches so I might give cucking her number (although she is quite annoyiong). Anyway, Roy keeps keeping us up, which is what Parish wants, he keeps asking for investment, Parish keeps saying no becuase he doesn't really want to invest in Roy. The worst that will happen for Parish is the Roy will walk. He can then bring someone new in knowing he's saved up some cash for transfers to entice a decent manager in. Repeat every couple of years. Good point and is the issue of our transfer spending in a nutshell. Why haven't we spent these sums this season ? After all we completed our biggest transfer ever with AWB. Okay, if the money is now servicing debt, how much debt do we have now and will this continue ? Next window will be crucial as it will become very clear where we are financially.

Just had a look at another Palace fans forum that is running a poll on whether Hodgson should stay or go.

When a manger only has a year left, no responsible chairman would open the cheque book for them, particulary with Roy's history in the transfer market.

Think people are missing the realities of football financing. We were able to sign players in the past because we could buy now but pay based on future incomes. We did that to secure premiership status but it is not sustainable. Eventually you run out of future incomes to use as securities. With no extra investment (US owners) coming in we have very little to spend. When we came up the glass for our capacity to do this was empty. Over the years we have filled up that capacity to the point where the glass is full.

Also which new quality players want to pay negativity football under Roy? Why have the players not been performing well? And please tell what coach is coming to teach the younger players, because as as far i have researched its a long time ago Roy had time/taught younger players? Originally posted by jeeagles
