It really annoys me that the strikers we have let go mostly seem to be prolific with their new clubs. Murray (obviously), Gayle, Campbell (to a lesser extent) and what about Stephen Dobbie? 36 goals so far this season, admittedly in a much inferior league. I have sympathy with Benteke (and the others we released) because he finds it just as hard as the others did. Until we find a midfield general (they are rare birds) we will continue to struggle in the lower reaches and, eventually, we will go down - maybe sooner than we expect.

How many chances have we created this seadon thag our forwards haven't put away. Creating isn't our problem.

Many people, including myself, thought that selling Murray was a good call at a time when we appeared to be moving up in the world and Glen was past his best. That turned out to be a mistake, firstly because Murray came out of a lean patch and recovered form with the Seaweeds and our subsequent options did not produce for very long. That is the way it goes sometimes. What bothers me is how we have decided to rely on a striker who was utterly useless before his injury and one that is usually one game away from a year out injured. Totally incomprehensible when we have fewer points than games and a terrible scoring record. Parish will have nowhere to hide if we go down.

He will be tarred and feathered with high-grade ordnance dropped on him from a great height.

Yep, I think our business is done. I would like us to sign someone called Crack though so we could say it was the back sack and crack window. You would never forget that one and let’s face it most of our windows are pretty forgettable.
