Just as you should have reserved judgement after the Burnley game, reserve full judgement after this game. It was a poor performance but I think there were substantial psychological factors at play, give it a few more games I say.

We had a bad game, we actually havnt had one for a long time. We desperately need a stronger bench but that is the first time we have been hammered this season. I thnk we will get a big bounce from it.

Last night was a freak result, freak ref, freak Brighton side and a freak amount of players who didnt turn up. The fact our team arnt good at playing sides who play 8 at the back is not that surprising....

Nonsense, you've got to take the rough with the smooth. It's not good every week, especially as a Palace fan. Beaten by the better team yesterday, it happens.

The players know it was a bad performance, a few of them came over to apologise at the end. No need to be over the top about it.

Let´s not get carried away. Games where everything goes wrong that can go wrong have taken place, take place and will take place in future. We are not as bad as yesterday, nor are we as good as last Saturday. My main concern is that there don´t seem to be any players or ideas on the bench how to give games like yesterday a twist. And this concern didn´t pop-up just yesterday.

Okay, so we were probably second-best for the first 20 minutes - but a low-scoring or nil-scoring draw was still IMHO looking on the cards. But as has frequently and correctly been said many times, goals change games.

The penalty was so blatantly unfair, that one can understand the players' anger. When the referee almost immediately compounded his error with another important wrong call against us, their anger rose and they lost concentration, and then their heads. Yes, I know they're professionals and should in theory be able to take these things in their stride. But even professionals are human beings, and I think they were goaded beyond endurance by Friend's decisions.

However undeserved Brighton's 2-0 lead might have been, they were certainly not going to surrender it - particularly down to 10 men - without a fight. And good for them. Their last goal was irrelevant, and largely the consequence of a losing team going all out to get back on terms.

So what's my conclusion from all this? That without that penalty award we might well have gradually got back into the game and finished with an acceptable scoreline. Another day we will be the beneficiaries of referee incompetence and get a win we don't deserve.

You know what I agree with this week... Every week it's the same thing off the bench... Jeff f***ing Schlupp and Alex Sorloth... Both of them completely inept and totally useless.

I'm not saying that Williams and KaiKai our going to be Messi but does anyone actually think they would be worse than those 2 s***houses??

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
