Cucking Funt Clapham on the Back 27 Aug 18 11.01am | |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Capoue' by Midlands Eagle Even Clattenburg writing in the Mail thought that Capoue should have walked and that VAR would have definitively confirmed it. It's a curious decision as Taylor was almost right on top of them and must have seen clearly what happened.

Zero attempt to even get near the ball. That is even worse than Dele alli driving his knee into the spine of a grounded Cabaye. Enjoy the return fixture at Selhurst Mr Capoue, i am sure Roy will. If we go 2 or 3 goals up, i can see Roy bringing on a lumbering monster-sub for the last 5 minutes of the game. Excuse me, ME, I also think this deserves a thread to itself and as pointed out in various places the thing is being swept under the carpet in the media. I don't think merging it in here is helpful because it isn't just about the match: it's about the whole issue of the protection or lack of it that our players and Wilf in particular receive from match officials.

Taylor either ' bottled ' it or knows nothing about football. I think if that incident had occurred later in the game then he would have sent Capoue off. In which case he certainly did bottle it.

It would be good if the rest of the team swarm the official. Manure did it to great effect.

Well I will take a lot of persuading on that point. It was totally premeditated and there now must be a call for retrospective action if the ref reviews it post-game. As for the scummy "fans" on the Watford forums who defended the assault because it was Zaha, they are a disgrace to football. Wonder what their opinion will be when Pererya is taken out I rest my case just seen this on one of their forums: Think he's now Watford through and through if he hates Zaha enough to try and ruin his career. How scummy can you get, still if you support an irrelevant club... this sort of thing must float your boat. Absolute scum

The whole system is silly, as there is a mechanism for rescinding harshly awarded red cards. Thus, the authorities already overturn wrong decision seen by the referee. That means the excuses they use about not undermining officials, or that it is not fair retroactively to re-look at things, are completely contradicted by their own procedures.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

Wow, they actually sound worse than Brighton fans. Yes, we actually are. Of course it was a bad tackle. Capoue should have been sent off. probably. It worked though, didn't it, and Zaha was quiet for the next 70 minutes. However, all this nonsense about career ending - nothing of the sort.

Souness went on about it for the whole game on Sky. Every newspaper match report says he should probably have been sent off. Garth Crooks team of the week which includes Pereyra has more about Capoue than about Pereyra. Sorry it didn't make the 10 o'clock news, but it was a bad call by a ref in a football match between two middling PL teams.
