I would be happy enough with him going on loan if we had 2 more strikers. As it is we have Benteke, Zaha and Ayew. Only really one out and out striker at the club. Letting him go would be crazy at this point in time.

I Agree, This in my eyes is Wickham’s make or break season a loan would be a very sensible opinion we can’t afford to be pinning our hopes that he is going to be injury free, no disrespect to Wickham it must be a nightmare. This club seem to be more concerned about bring in players in other areas, goalkeeper, defence and midfield. Our priority from day one of this transfer window should have been strikers. We really don’t seem to learn from one season to the next. We all know we have been riding our luck over the few seasons, we cant afford another Benteke or Wickham injury even a Zaha injury (if he stays). Surely getting player/s in this area and having them involved in preseason training would actually be of benefit.

Parish and co must know something we don’t. Two strikers going out, nobody coming in with just three days to go...

Benteke and Ayew are, to be charitable, f***ing awful.

If Wickham is healthy, I would take him any day over Benteke or Ayew. He literally could not be worse than those two.

I know he's been constantly injured, but I don't understand what loaning him out would accomplish other than get some other club to pay his wages this season.

If we had decent options, ok, but we don't have decent options. I'd rather take a chance on Wickham this year and hope that we get some good games out of him before he breaks every bone in his body again.

2017 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Middlesboro
2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

Truth is he is not premier. Championship will suit him way better. Hopefully his body will cope better there. This is a deal that should have happened earlier along with many others. Seriously question our planning.

He’s always injured. It doesn’t matter if he’s Messi. He never plays.

Plus he may have lost it now. Like Souare. Not same player. Those in training would know

Plus we may send on loan but with agreement to sell for a few mill

Not fair. They're out of form and low on confidence, perhaps. But f*** awful is taking it a bit far.

In saying that, I agree that Wickham could be a pleasant suprrise this year.

There was a rumour a few days back that Zaha will go to Everton and McCarthy and Tocsun come to Palace in exchange plus cash? If the cash bit were to be boosted to £60m ish (yet another rumour circulating to that effect) then we would lose Zaha but get two players who would probably start for Palace and make available enough cash to get a really good wide player to replace Zaha and another striker too? If an injury prone Wickham left under those circumstances and we got Tocsun then that wouldn’t be too bad. A lot of assumptions based on rumours of course!

And you really think Parish and Freedman would be able to organise all that in the next 2 days 9 hours and 28 minutes? I admire your confidence, but I think that it may be seriously misplaced.

Highly likely!
