Covering their modesty of their ankles and cheeks is apparently empowering. You're excusing wearing it in a western Country?

Years ago I dealt with men wearing their full nikah outfit but the full female veil? No. They change, not us. Others have, they can too. Not everything, just integrate with some basic principles of being able to see the person and them being more equal to men might be a good place to start. Other Muslims have adjusted.

I know Muslim women who don't wear a headscarf , I've worked with those that do and I've chatted with mums at parents evening who have had the full face veil.

All lovely people. I found the full face veil disconcerting at first, I won't deny it, but it turned out with one of them that I knew her cousin who worked at another school I had worked at. I certainly didn't get the sense that she was on some sort of power trip.

I'm a bit meh about the veil myself. The fact that women wear it because men can't control their urges is a bit of a s*** reason (I wonder if irony is lost on those people that have said 'it's disgusting they have to cover up ' but have also said 'she probably deserved it dressed like that'?

However there are many many Muslim women who like the modesty of the veil, only showing herself off to those close.
Not many women like being gawked at and seen as 'objects'. The veil prevents this.

It should however be the woman's choice whether she wears he garb or not.

I am not excusing it, I am explaining some reasons as to why some muslim women choose to wear a veil or headscarf.
That is neither excusing nor being an apologist for.

Why don't you like the face veil? Can't you communicate without seeing someone's face? Never used a telephone?
