RH said 2 key things on the pitch after the game:
1. That he’d see us next year. I suspect those words were carefully chosen.
2. That the team not only has the potential to finish in the top ten, but towards the top of the top ten. I’d hate to encourage unrealistic expectations on here (!) but you can’t help feeling excited by such positivity.

He also seemed genuinely touched by the effusive reception he received today.

Couldn't agree more.

What a moment when the superb HF banner dropped down and the whole stadium was on it's feet in unison applauding Hodgson. You just don't get that at other clubs!

Is it any coincidence that both Coppell & Hodgson are educated, cultured and thoroughly decent chaps -something that cant be said about many of our other managers in recent times?

Who said good guys cannot achieve?

When we look to replace Hodgson, part of the recruitment process should include Moral Compass...

Lovely gesture from the HF yesterday with the homage to Roy. Whole ground singing for Roy as one of our own. Must have been a touching moment for him. From the terraces to the dugout. What a guy

When his name was mentioned as a candidate for Palace manager a year ago, I have to say I was uncertain. His managerial record spoke for itself, he always came across as a thoroughly decent man and it was hard to find anyone saying anything negative about him. However, i wasn't sure that he had it in him to recover from the debacle of the 2016 European Finals.
He has made me feel very humble by proving me wrong in spades!
The way he has turned results round from an awful start of no points or goals from the first seven games and weathered the storm of the worst injury crisis I can ever remember at Palace has been nothing less than dramatic and impressive. He has been calm, assured and dignified and we have finished the season playing some of the most confident and technically effective football I have ever seen from a Palace team.
This has been one of the most impressive seasons I have seen in 65+ years of supporting Palace.
Roy Hodgson, I thank you and salute you!

I was pretty much as negative as everyone else when he was appointed, but friedfns who support Fulham and West Brom were all unifornmly positive: the gist was always "great club manager - you'll be fine"... and they were 100% right.

All this chat about RH decency etc.

What about the 'foul-mouthed rant'?

Missed it completely.

The Stoke dressing room at half-time would have been educational I am sure !!!

Am so pleased to see Palace playing such good football.

Just a shame that he isn't 10 years younger and we could keep him for a few more seasons. He seems a nice bloke and being local is a bonus.

I think BFS and Pulis did more impressive jobs in their short stays but they didn't show any Decorum, Class and Decency when they fecked off.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Spot on here. Every club has a blueprint and culture. Hodgson and Coppell are both perfect fits for CPFC and what we're all about.

I agree with all the plaudits for Roy, he has been superb.
Give him the right idiot to interract with and he can be moved to anger..............
