Off to QPR deal agreed.

If this is true then clearly he enjoys getting relegated and is motivated purely by money.

Ferdinand may have gone there but they will be lucky to get 10 games out of him this season and then he will retire to concentrate on being an awful pundit !

Yet again Redknapp will take QPR to the brink of bankrupcy and will blame everyone but himself. Just look at the state of Pompey and yet still clubs employ him...unbelievable!

As I said earlier, anyone who would choose Crooked 'Arry and Queen's Park Rangers over us is not the right man for Palace. So far as I know, this is still just a rumour but if it proves true, good riddance and we'll do better elsewhere. I fervently hope QPR go down though while Burnley in particular, and Leicester to a lesser extent, stay up. It'd be nice to think honesty and competence (in the form of Pearson and Dyche) had its rewards.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

If he goes to QPR then it's purely for money, we can, don't want to and shouldn't chuck money at it like them.

There are always other players, some even better.

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

If he wants to go to QPR he can f*ck off there. They are crooks and liars. Let's hope 'arry f*cks everything up again and he finishes up in the Championship, same as Cardiff.

The right place at the right time

Would have been happy if he'd signed but I'd rather spend the money trying to get Wilf back in the red and blue so he can show the World what he's made of in the colours of the club that made him

As much as I rate Caulker and am pleased with the calibre of player we're looking at, I'm not overly convinced we need to splash out on a centre back. Didn't we have the 4th best defense in the league last season but were the 2nd lowest goalscorers?! I think that says it all. We need goals!

We also need cover defensively. We were very lucky injurywise

But that is due to the way we were set up, where we often played with 2 DMs. If we want to be more expansive then we will expose the defence more & it does need strengthening.

I agree with Yorks, you can't commit forward, but we play counter attacking football. A classic example of goals we will get is Gayle's first against Liverpool.

Also, with a strong defence you try as a manager to compound that and strengthen it further with the right acquisitions. The fact that we didn't score much was down to the fact that we intended to play that way by nicking a goal here or there. Look at teams playing the world cup. Games were defensive and dull as dishwater, but teams managed to grind out results.

Don't think it's a bad move for an up and coming young Englishman to learn from an experienced ex international who in his day was the best defender in the top flight. He can teach Caulker all sorts about the game. I wish we had got him but good job Qpr. They have signed some quality players and might be in with a shout of staying up.
