I feel quite conflicted over this. I don’t like the idea of someone losing a job but there should be some consequences.
Maybe a compulsory appearance on one of Ant Middleton’s sweary programmes.

I agree I think she just got caught up in the moment but she got caught. It's funny that most private companies have policies about employee involvement in politics as they are terrified as being seen as politically bias. Meanwhile in the public sector its perfectly normal for staff to be involved.

My guess is that someone told her to resign rather than face the sack.

Vince Cable is borderline too.

To be fair, the article says she quit her job (not sacked).

Again, these abusive, violent protesters all seem to come from the same side of politics. You have grown adults screaming into people's faces. What is wrong with these people?

This is all about their own issues. Most of these people secretly hate themselves.

Some of them have mental health issues, others have been brainwashed into thinking they are dealing with neo Nazis by people eager to distort and peddle narratives that promote that.

The intelligent ones just believe in a worldview that I don't agree with but are prepared to protest peacefully. Those are the ones worthy of some respect.

And I guess if you swap the 'Nazis' part with... circle where appropriate 'lefties', 'hippies', 'Communists' etc you'll have summed up the other side too. Very succinct, nice work.

On her Twitter profile, that protester describes herself as an "Intersectional Feminist, LGBT+, accused crazy cat lady, body positive, striving for equality."

She runs a private company which provides 'clinical services' to the NHS. But she was protesting against Trump and a potential US trade deal that could lead to privatisation of the NHS!

I don't think the issue is with name calling itself – but disingenuously getting the names totally wrong. We don't have any Nazi politicians in the UK, while there are open Marxists in the Labour party.

True...and thank god for that.

I guess if I was to put it on a spectrum though the flipside of an open Marxist would be a rampant capitalist. And there could well be a few UK politicians fitting that title.

Calling someone a lefty or hippy or indeed even a communist isn't going to result in them being sacked or screamed at in the street by mentally unwell people.

So I'm struggling to see your point.

Hopefully the vast majority of them, seeing as we are living in a capitalistic society.
