Good post. I don't believe Liverpool paid £32.5m fully to Villa, it would be the total package deal, they more than likely haven't paid more than £28m by now based on his performance last year. All these add on clauses are quite standard now, that is why they take time. Do you think we got the full money for Bolasie on Wednesday, I doubt it. People saying pay up the full price now are deluded, it's not how the strange football world works. Add on clauses might be standard but offering less money upfront than your first offerand clauses that are not ever likely to be triggered probably aren't. I'm slightly surprised Liverpool are still talking to us given how long this has gone on.

Okay Mr Parish, I consider that (just like my commission plan) in your latest offer to Liverpool for Benteke there are elements that will never be achieved, so, now in your revised offer just be realistic. Offer £30m cash and no add-ons. If you want the player, just make a simple offer.
Most certainly not European. |

But SP is probably trying to find ways squeeze the money to bring several players in, for example, repacements for Bolasie and Jedi, plus a couple of strikers, plus LB/RB cover, plus a midfield playmaker....

SP/AP are between a rock and a hard place, and its out order for LP to release offer details. I agree with this, Liverpool seem to think they can dictate to us. Whilst I would love to see Benteke in a Palace shirt, we can't just roll over and have our tummies tickled by Liverpool. Fully understand Parishs stance on this

We must sold more than we have bought in helping our new owners bank balance.

Champions League clause is so SP trying to effectively take £2.5m off the price. Touch embarrassing to be honest.
The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years |

At the moment we have received around £15 m than spent in this window. The replacements for Yannik and Jedi will be more than matched by the money they raised. In fact I would say we won't be spending anything like that on their replacements. We have previously bid £32 m for Mitchu. In my opinion the money is there to fund the players we need. The issue is either SP is unable to deal with the negotiations at this level or Alan partridge Pardew cannot make up his mind which players he wants.

Yeh stupid post. Dont think sp/ cpfc2010 take a salary from the club so the suggestion they are going to hide away/ spend bolasies and others fees on there own wages is deluded and stupud.

Or that SP is looking slightly more long-term than just this transfer? We just roll over and accept Liverpools asking price then it gives the message out to every other club that we are likely to buy from in the future to do exactly the same! Given the quantities of cash involved here then I'm pleased there is some negotiation going on. Compare this to the panic buying that happened three years ago - which SP has on many occasions admitted was a mistake that he has learned from. The guy can't win!

Liverpool considered our various add on clauses as widely unrealistic and we have made ourselves a laughing stock in the process.
