I have no idea how this works but a sad mate of mine tracked the Yanks private jet when it went yesterday. Edited by The Dolphin (29 Jun 2021 6.09am)

Has SP been in France since last week? Did he not meet Favre there? Otherwise surprised he got there due to the banning of Brits at the present time

Edited by Helmet46 (29 Jun 2021 6.59am) Correct - [Link] He'll have been double jabbed already so just needed a private PCR. If you have money, you can get your result in a couple of hours. I know I shouldn't get excited, but this is all at least possible, if not plausible! At this stage, contracts expire tomorrow I think? Whatever the yanks want to do with us, not getting a manager in now is certain relegation and thus a significant hit on their investment. Only problem is that favre holds all the cards now. It's give in or give up!

If the initial problem was lack of transfer budget, I would be interested to know how much we offered (thought we had £50m) and how much he wanted

If this is true then I take back everything i said about the yanks not being interested. One thing for sure is that they are both very smart guys. They know if we fly high our value could easily ten times their investment. So get a top manager…….. I think they just put money in when they know, or are made very aware by Parish etc, that if they don’t then we will be relegated and their capital invested will shrink massively. The yanks investing when essential doesn’t ever mean they will continue to. They want a buyer so will step in when the roof tiles need patching up. That is all, but other disinterested or reckless major shareholders and owners in recent times would do less or make big mistakes, so at least they’re looking after their own money which keeps the roof from falling in.

That seems the de facto excuse people come up with when managers don’t sign. Farve has a long history of working with zero budgets, so he must know his strengths. yet we have actually just lost a lot of overheads on the wage book and our reliance on match day income is less than others (as it’s so small) so we have been less hit by covid maybe and actually do have money to spend. However he has been let down by owners in the past, so I wonder if he wants assurances on our ownership and what the yanks plan on actually doing with their shares in the club, hence them having to fly over to talk to him.

Perhaps Parish is hoping Favre has had a really, really nice restful week since last they spoke.
