I suspect it is when rather than if but whatever happens it won't be the sole responsibility of whoever is in the WH. An administration can help or hinder progress but there is always a time lag between cause and effect. Thus what we are seeing now is the result of many things but any political input was made during the Obama years. Trump cannot claim credit for any of it and only those who believe all he says, or Fox, won't understand that. So whilst Trump won't be solely responsible for any downturn he can modify it's impact by making it worse or better. Tax cuts and trade wars are not likely to make things better are they? But as we’ve established Obama’s solution was to spend his way out of trouble using money he didn’t have. This sounds like a policy embraced by some governments we’ve had over the years.

Generally when I disagree with someone I do refuse to believe that their point is correct, yes. Thats called disagreeing. You're not so good at actually addressing what someone posts, and prefer to just put out some of your own unrelated talking points. Its a poor debate strategy, but ok. You can google herd mentality, or even better here is a link for you, I am a bit shocked you haven't heard of it given whats going on in the UK right now: You made points about CNN "holding back" black people by telling them that the reason they haven't achieved success in life is racism. I contend that you are in no position to make that statement, as you werent born with black skin. I can tell you for an absolute fact, even though I am not black, that racism is alive and well in the States and sometimes people do not get jobs/apartments because of being black. That is simply a fact. Whether or not CNN have a gameplan to suppress black people and keep them aligned with the democrats, by telling them that race is the reason for everything bad that happens in their life, is not a fact, it is conjecture. Whataboutery generally means totally ignoring every point put to you, and replying solely on something else. Here is a definition: I didnt do that, I simply pointed out that you may want to look at people other than black people in the States, for habitual welfare reliance. This is a tricky position to take Maine. I assume you’re not a fascist but it doesn’t preclude you from having an opinion about them.

I have to agree with you. If a 'thicko' can govern a country well, then there's some hope for the UK!

The politicians there turned it into the EU's bitch.

We all know someone like Trump, to a certain extent. I had a boss like Trump back in the day. He thinks he knows everything....literally. You can ask him about nuclear fission, and he will try to cobble some some of nonsensical answer together with his rambling verbal diarrhea. Trump is a bit like a magic 8 ball. "I think it will work out ok" or "hes a fantastic person" or "its a tremendous achievement". He simply throws out some totally generic rhetoric and the people around him just think "what a tit". Leo Varadkar's face was an absolute picture during this and then he basically shot him down and contradicted the nonsense. He heard a question about a border and the first thing he said was "wall". He doesnt read his briefings, because he is a "stable genius" and doesn't need a career civil servant to tell him how to approach Chairman Kim, he can handle that himself. When asked about the hugely divisive Irish border issue he basically gave a simplistic pep talk that a father might give to a 3 year old. Totally out of his depth addressing any serious global topics. He is a bit like Tucker Carlson trying to do serious journalism on homelessness or drug taking. He is not smart or remotely articulate enough to actually tackle the topic, but cobbles together some sort of right wing bollocks and puts it on TV for the MAGA mob to gobble up like strombolis.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

His is hardly the first president to be lacking in the knowledge department. Ronnie and 'W' would give him a run for his money.

None of the cable news networks are geared up for 'serious' journalism. If you ever listened to Tucker or read any of his books, you'd know that he is pretty smart. His debate at Politicon with Cenk Uygur is worth watching. [Link]

Its really as simple as that. Never before on the right or left have 3 talking head opinion hacks on one station basically been state run propaganda. Fox's opinion lineup in Ingraham, Hannitty and Carlson are partisan biased hacks, their words have no meaning whatsoever. Fox also has a news department where real journalists exist. Chris Wallace and Brett Baier on Fox are journalists. You could say the same (partisan) of some on CNN and NBC prime time, but certainly not all. Ari Melber is a serious journalist and does serious and meticulously checked work. Saying that some heavyweights on the likes of CNN such as Christiane Amanpour cannot do serious journalism is ridiculous.

CNN is losing money and cutting staff......The Russian collusion nothing burger damaged them considerably. Fox on the other hand seem to be ruling the roost.

He is not how you describe him as a total partisan hack and regularly criticises the GOP. Only yesterday on Fox he lauded Elizabeth Warren's economic policy. Pearl Harbor made almost 500 mil at the box office. It is one of the worst films ever made. Just because something is popular, doesnt mean its not utterly crap, and vice versa. Fox news does indeed get more viewers than CNN, but that means nothing at all in terms of quality of output.
