That is crazy - not surprising maybe as nothing that happens in the US can surprise anyone, but crazy the same. I would expect Trump to come out and condemn this. The Democrats didn't condemn Antifa/BLM violence by name. Why should Trump. He's entitled to the same obscuration they used.

That's just a cheap right-wing slur. Antifa doesn't have a structure to condemn. The violence around the protests wasn't done by any organisation but by individuals who may, or importantly may not, have a connection to an organisation. The Democrats did condemn the violence:- Trump should do the same, even if he blames rogue individuals rather than organisations.

Yet when the Democrats were saying similar you said nothing. When did the Democrats ever say anything quite as bizarre as Jones did yesterday? Nothing they have ever said about Trump is remotely similar.

'Dear Red States…. We’ve decided we’re leaving. We intend to form our own country, we’re taking the other Blue States with us … that includes Hawaii, Oregon, California, New Mexico, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and all the Northeast.' Lanny Davis (Democrat) From 1996 to 1998, he served as a special counsel to President Bill Clinton, and was a spokesperson for the President and the White House on matters concerning campaign-finance investigations and other legal issues. After the 2016 election, many Democrats in deep-blue California expressed interest in secession to the extent that Trump mentioned it in his speech to the new legislature in 2016.

As stated I have no issues with Trump using the same disingenuous language as the Democrats did. If one side is happy to protect its rough house activists then that's fine for the other.

Yes, there was been a distinct trend of late to infer that violence or even death is visited upon those who are in positions of power who do not fight to overcome a 'stolen election'. This is a marked difference from what's come before, though I have actively condemned violence repeatedly no matter who carries it out. What Jones, Trump and others have done is to actively contribute to this through their own choice of words. We may well end up with a dead politician or two before this is all said at done. When Gretchen Whitmer was the target of a right wing plot to kidnap and possibly kill her, did Trump lead condemnation of it? No he instead called her 'dishonest' in highlighting the atmosphere he's contributed to, and smugly looked on as his supporters bizarrely chanted 'lock her up'. He criticised her rather than focus on those it's thought intended to kill her. A continuation of the rhetoric that plants these seeds to begin with. This is intentional and sends out a clear message to others cut from the same cloth.

You know it makes me smile when....all of a sudden, Republicans start doing what Democrats have been vocalising for these past four years...Incitement upon incitement...and then suddenly those who let it pass by without copious words suddenly choose to get animated now. Their activists literally burned and killed and they ignored it until it came from the right.....where suddenly labels and organisations mattered. Here's a video of all those conveniently ignored moments to be indignant. [Tweet Link]

You can always find the occasional odd person with even odder views. Just take a look in the mirror for the evidence. Some in California did float the idea but it has never seriously got off the ground. A single, large wealthy state could possibly manage it but a varied group spread across the whole country with other states in between presents issues on a whole different scale.

What Trump and his inner circle have been saying is on a whole different scale to anything that has gone before. If you cannot see that, or more likely refuse to accept it, then shame on you.
