This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Another day, another deal according to the press. Another make weight that this time Everton don't want plus decent cash. Parish should be telling all of them what we want, if we are going to move him on, not who they want to get off their payroll.

EEverton have told Crystal Palace they are prepared to pay £60 million plus striker Cenk Tosun for Wilfired Zaha, but fear they could miss out to Chelsea. Telegraph Sport understands that Chelsea are weighing up a bid for Zaha that would take him to Stamford Bridge once the club have served their transfer ban. Chelsea are currently serving their two-window ban and cannot sign players this summer. They have lodged an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but the fear remains they will also be prevented from making any new signings in January. That may suit Palace, as it would most likely allow Zaha to spend the coming season at Selhurst Park and would also improve their chances of signing Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, who spent last season on loan with the Eagles. Chelsea are yet to make any firm move for 26-year-old Zaha, but the playersis thought to be aware of their potential interest in setting up a transfer for when their ban ends. Everton want to do a deal now and have indicated a willingness to send Tosun to Palace as well as pay £60m, which is far closer to Palace’s valuation of Zaha and is comfortably more than Arsenal’s first bid of £40m. ‘Palace have previously been interested in Tosun and Everton are making it clear how serious they are by offering to shatter their transfer record to try to land Zaha. But the former Manchester United forward has made it clear that he wants to join a club that he believes will compete in the Champions League and favours a move to either Arsenal or Chelsea. With Arsenal currently struggling to come up with the funds to match Palace’s £80m valuation, Chelsea may see an opportunity to offer a deal that could suit all parties.’ Seems we all got this wrong, according to Sky news this morning the deal is £60M INCLUSIVE ofTosun, thats as bad as the Arsenal deal

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle The Chelsea transfer ban has really caused us issues. Reece James, Batshuayi all could have made the move, Wilfs price would have been pushed up if we had a bidding war and Chelsea would have been a much smarter option for us and them. Parish gets on really well with the Chelsea hierarchy and they are pretty easy to deal with by all accounts. I’m still hopeful that the CAS will freeze it in time for these deals to go ahead, but if not this is a really good option to keep Wilf for a year if possible but have the deal done with time to prepare for life after Wilf.

this says two windows rather than 2 years. But I agree with the thought Wilf wouldn't to move to Chelsea. Anything could happen before they make their 'move'. I think £73m gets Wilf this summer & someone will pay it. (I also think that's too low, for the record).
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Wilf won’t be leaving in this window, times up and there has been too much dithering by the so called big boys... Not sure why Everton think 60 million plus Tosun will get a deal over the line, he is bang average and definitely not Premiership standard.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle If Chelsea give us at least a big chunk of a fee now and he agrees to go there next summer then that sounds like the best option if we are going to lose him. Whether that is even plausible is another matter. If we could buy Wilf's replacement now or in January and bed him in (and have time to find an alternative if it doesn't work out) then that would at least soften the blow. With less than 2 weeks of the window left it is surely too late to sell him now, given it's taken us this long to replace AWB (and we still haven't). As to Everton, I'll keep saying it, if he goes there he has clearly given up on proving himself at a big club.

Really can't see it happening but never say never. Chelsea have so many players out on loan. There must be a decent winger or striker amongst them that they would consider offloading as part of a deal.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Chelsea now in the mix to sign him? This is getting ridiculous, we really can't be sweating over our star player at this stage in the window. If it's the case that the board is waiting for a big Wilf move before we go in for our own transfer targets, then we've f***ed ourselves.
