Offices of state act on them. Only the SCOTUS has a political bias, by the way it is appointed. The Director of the FBI, who must have approved this, was appointed by Trump. This is the law in action.. Nothing else, although that won’t stop the right presenting it as a political act. Hopefully the open minded independents will be able to understand that. The Trumpkins are beyond reason. I stopped reading after the first sentence.

I stopped reading after the first sentence. . You would though, wouldn’t you! Anything which doesn’t fit your preconceptions is rejected out of hand. Especially when it’s the obvious truth.

Ok, you keep believing that and think of TR and his treatment; not the dirt bag rapists he talked about eh! Remember the old “ and then they came for me “ you best hope it’s not you ! Edited by cryrst (09 Aug 2022 3.06pm) The law applies to everyone, whether in the USA or here. It may be an uncomfortable fact but fact it is. No-one is above the law. “Dirt bag rapists” deserve all that the law can throw at them, but that doesn’t mean anyone else who breaks it can claim a free pass. Trump is a serial liar who disrespects democracy. He deserves all that is coming to him.

Surely you don't believe this? There was ample evidence that Hilary Clinton had classified documents / emails not on secure government servers and yet the FBI chose to not to raid her house.

Because the charge of "incentivising insurrection" could never be twisted to fit almost anything. I don't feel the need to defend Trump because he's not my guy but you continue to show how you are willing to get behind post modern ideas of "defending democracy" and the "common good" and you will justify anything on that basis because you have no moral underpinning and it suits your own agenda.

Surely you don't believe this? This is a complete misreading of the situation. It’s exactly what Trump wants you to think. Do you seriously think the Democrats want that? I would not be the least surprised if Trump engineered this himself by refusing to give up certain things. It plays straight into his narrative as a persecuted victim and keeps all the attention on himself, at a time when the Democrats have just had a significant success in the House. It has also forced his rivals to support him. This is not in the Democrat’s interest in any way at all. This is solely the work of Justice which takes no heed of any political ramifications. There are some hard-line Trump “can do no wrong” supporters who are now calling for civil war. This is very dangerous. Do you think the Democrats would deliberately do that? No chance. They would like to see his victimhood opportunities reduced, not enhanced, and for the GOP to split over him. Now we will see support hardening. This definitely helps Trump, and not the Democrats. However, the law is the law and it applies to all. Politics must be ignored. I won’t get diverted onto Clinton or Biden, but the situation on both is very different. Neither were President.

Any charges will be tested in Court where a full defence can be mounted. That’s why evidence is needed and being patiently gathered. Neither your, or my, own opinions “twisted” or not make the slightest difference.

The documents were already leaked. She was not POTUS. So the FBI had no need to raid. It didn’t stop Comey commenting though and tipping the balance to Trump.
