I will never understand his use of the bench, but credit to the team yesterday. And again, scoring in the dying minutes. The same attitude against Brentford and we will catch our first 3-pointer in a long time. BTW, that American fellow in midfield is proving his worth.

I was and have been very much in the camp of ‘Roy is a safe pair of hands’ and this season will be what it is, finishing 12th-15th with a lot of boring football and we bring in the new manager in the summer. Looking at yesterdays game, it looks like age has caught up with Roy, it happens in an instant and since in-game Bournemouth that looks like the beginning of the end of his and Ray’s tenure. His deficiencies are being exposed and significantly highlighted and his historic strengths are no more evident across games. It’s tough because, the general consensus was it was the wrong decision for him to return for season at the time of re-appointment in the summer and now it feels like he has to go. He is a gent and there is a lot of respect for him from the fan base and those outside the club who are part of the football community, however, Parish the face of decisions being made by the board is in a very tricky situation regarding how he manages the coming days if not weeks. Brentford is going to be interesting for everyone as the microscope is now on Roy, his tactics, his in-game management, their performance as a team and individuals alongside in general the attitude/enthusiasm of the crowd as many on here,BBS and socials want Roy gone NOW. Roy by all intents and purposes will keep us up - but has he got the natural energy, motivation and desire to work in the way needed as an elite manager to do so?

I was disappointed with his post match interview on Prime last night. He seemed more interested in scoring points against a young novice female interviewer. Some of his comments and excuses were nothing short of pathetic. It reminded me of his days as the England manager. He and RL just sat on the bench all night looking like Dumb and Dumber!

There are people whom I have spoken to who are firmly of the opinion that a scenario whereby Mr Hodgson is in situ to the end of the season is highly improbable.

While most teams are making 5 subs and freshening up half their out field players we make 1 or 2 in the dying minutes. The blame on this is not solely on Roy’s shoulders, Our owners are more to blame for the shocking squad that we have.

Six points from the last eleven games. A good job for the manager that nothing happens quickly at Palace.

Interestingly I have had conversations with supporters regarding culpability for our plight. Given that everybody knows Roy’s methodology I find it hard to solely blame him for our current predicament. The club appointed him and they did invest , but not in players that could make a rapid difference to the squad. Injuries have also been a contributory factor. It’s starting to become a relegation ‘ Perfect Storm ‘. A win on Saturday followed by some prudent signings in January will hopefully turn the tide. But it does feel that the club have wasted the whole season.
