This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I think we as Palace fans are very lucky to have SP in our corner as he has the clubs best interests at heart. SP always said Textor multi club situation would not harm Palace going forward. SP IMO is now a very experienced football club owner/administrator and we are seeing this as we also have a forward thinking manager/coach. I am sure whatever happens to Textor this will not effect our way forward.

Although Textor has said he's interested in Everton, I think I read somewhere (can't remember where but possibly in The Athletic) that his other option was an Championship club. To my mind that would make a lot of sense for him. It will be cheaper to buy and he can get full control of the club and there are some attractive clubs in that division with decent size grounds (Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Middlesbrough and Derby County come to mind). His interest in Everton might simply be a smokescreen.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

If 45% of Crystal Palace must be owned by a venture capitalist, can it please be someone with more money to put into the club than this fellow?

I am wondering how this announcement by Textor might impact our immediate future. For sure he isn’t going to be investing any money whilst he sells. Which could take a while, even if a buyer is found quickly. Due diligence always takes time. If he eventually sells to Harris and Blitzer that could take even longer and make them the majority shareholders. What could that deliver? Will this make it more likely that we will be selling some or all of our Crown Jewels this summer in order to finance the new stand? Or will Parish be able to maintain a steady pragmatic course so the promise of the last couple of months can be fully realised. As a Palace supporter for 70:years I have seen many false dawns during an overall rise from the 3rd Division South to an established PL member. This feels different and I so hope that Textor’s announcement doesn’t turn out to be the prick that bursts the balloon.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

He's a fixture at the club, very entwined with the local community, trying to develop the area around the Riverside stadium to rejuvenate the area. He's a throwback to the old style local club owner.

Completely irrelevant to this thread but talking about "old style local club owners" I used to work for a previous owner of Middlesbrough and used to run a few companies on behalf of the late Alf Duffield
