Silva blatantly cheating is for me a far bigger issue for football right now than BLM movement. If football condone openly cheating, which it does, what message does that send to youngsters? The damage an ‘elite’ cheat has on youngsters who spend their lives being influenced by the players is untold.
Football here should lead by example and stamp out cheating in a very big way. Wilf must be the most cynically persecuted player in football. He has been constantly fouled and it is constantly ignored. It is RUINING games and the flow of the game. Same with Ayew.
Football is so hypocritical. Get shot of taking the knee and stamp down on stopping the free flow of the game. It’s ruining it for us fans.
I don’t come to make or support a political movement. I come to watch fast flowing football. This is being seriously denied at Crystal Palace games. How many players have been sent off for constantly fouling our players? How many have walked for constantly cheating against us? Virtually none.
Is it going unnoticed that our team is being badly persecuted? Yes. Very definitely.
This is what our regulators should be addressing. Not some political movement from USA.
Wake up FA. Look at solving your own problems. Sin bins should be top of your list not taking the knee.

Premier League captains have confirmed that players will once again take the knee before specific matches during the 2023/24 season, to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to fight racism and all forms of discrimination.

Players will take the knee at the Premier League’s opening and final match rounds of the season, as well as dedicated No Room For Racism fixtures in October and April, and Boxing Day fixtures.

The Premier League supports the players’ decision and will continue to work alongside clubs this season to elevate anti-discrimination messaging as part of the League’s No Room For Racism Action Plan.

The Premier League captains said: “We are unified in our belief that any form of discrimination has no place within football, or wider society, and are committed to using our platform to help celebrate diversity and show our support in the fight against racism.

“Therefore, we will continue to show solidarity by taking the knee at significant moments during the forthcoming season. Diversity is central to the success of the game and we feel strongly that people should respect others, regardless of their ethnicity or background

I don't think it is contentious, I don't think too many people would disagree with the aims of the Captains. So I'm happy if that's what they want to do.

Yes eagleman, why oh why? Nothing more than posturing and virtue signalling with very little, if any, impact.

Wilf could see through this gesture last year which is why he remained standing. He drew more attention to the issue than the kneelers.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

The total level of inconvenience it'll cause you is the time for it to happen, which if you attended all 5 games will be similar to opening a well sealed letter.

I think you'll be alright.

Looking forward to the Just Stop Oil Activists disrupting the PL games and hopefully just when the teams are taking the knee.

The left will then be in a real fuddle Who do they support ?

Harry Kane summed up for me the commitment of the players.

Kane: I will wear a rainbow armband at the world cup.

FIFA: If you do you will get booked

Harry: Okay I wont bother then.

Virtue signalling paper tigers.

Any statement from former Premier League captains on whether they will be taking the knee in Saudi Arabia?

I don’t understand why people have an issue with it. Racism still exists in football, if people think this will have a positive effect (I don’t) then crack on, it’s not going to ruin my enjoyment of the game though.
