We really dont need him . At best he will be on the bench blocking the development of one of our own . There are reasons WBA got relegated , having a s***e midfield was one of them . Seems you never/seldom watched WBA last season. Gallagher and Pereira were class even if the Baggies got relegated.

Can't believe how many people are citing the Baggies relegation as a reason for this being a poor acquisition, did nobody watch games last season? He shined even amongst those poor players. Will be a very useful signing, even if only on loan.

Most on here seem to be talking like the deal has been done? Has it? I haven't seen anything official?

Actually many people who watched him last season have said the exact opposite - that he ran around a lot and they compared him to a headless chicken

Sorry if this is an unpopular theory but I really dont subscribe to this theory that a team that was relegated dosent have any player worth buying (solely on the fact that they got relegated) Every team that gets into the Prem does so on the back of having some quality in their ranks, the ones that get relegated do so because either they didnt use what quality they had wisely (or through suspension or injuries) or they didnt have enough quality in their 25 man squad to sustain their place - In my opinion - FWIW - Individual performers should be judged on their own merits.

I saw a report not too long ago where even Bamford admitted that when he was with us his head wasnt in the right place - he has grown up since then & become a better player for the experience. Originally posted by crystal-purley
Not too sarcastically I hope he does a little better than Bamford although even he has done better since leaving us. Gallagher could do well and could help out Banks by blocking a too early debut. I am still amazed by other recent signings to be too upset by the Gallagher signing (distant relation of my hairdresser) and I hope he does well enough for us to keep up this season.

Absolutely agree with you there.

I find it very hard to believe Leeds, Newcastle and Palace were all chasing a bad player…and that Chelsea wanted to take a look at him in pre season before deciding whether to keep him for the season and it’s been mentioned Tuchel was impressed by him but the player wants first team football. I just don’t buy the notion he’s a bad player at all. He’s 6ft, has a good engine and has quality on the ball. He’s a potential upgrade on every single player we currently have in central midfield.
