So much to bleat and repeat about yesterday so not gonna bother other than "Am I the only person who thought Andros was utterly shocking"?

Aside from winning the penalty. Andros had a shocker of a game. So did Batshuayi. Don’t think I’ve ever yelled at my TV that loud whenever Bats and his first touch let him down.

"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!"

Why are we so bad at corners?? We are so bad now that the opposition should just put the ball out for a corner which they then know will set up their next move up the pitch.
Wasn’t this one of RH weak points as England’s manager?

I mean why not try something different like a short corner. Banging it into the middle every time is not working.

We can make as many excuses as we like about they should have had a player sent off, they were overly physical, they scored with their only shots etc.
The fact is we were not good enough and have not been good enough all season at home.
Roy’s way of playing at home doesn’t seem to suit any striker.
Batshuayi had nothing set up for him yesterday and doesn’t look the sort of player to create something for himself as he’s a poacher.
But even when we’ve tried Benteke, Ayew or Wickham the service has still been poor.
There seems to be a myth building around the amount of chances we create at home as I can only recall Burnley and Cardiff where we created lots of chances.
We missed the odd chance against Southampton, Newcastle, Watford , Chelsea and Brighton but have not really carved them open.
At home , where we can’t counterattack, we are very easy to defend against and I don’t see this changing under Roy as he won’t change his approach.
Somebody told me we have scored 7 goals in open play at home this season which sounds shocking if correct.
Our free kicks and corners are useless and leave us vulnerable to counterattack.
Roy will not take any responsibility and when asked about the poor quality in the display yesterday he just said , ‘ that’s down to individuals.’
Yes, the players are responsible too , but ultimately he is the manager and is accountable for tactics, how we set up, changes during the game and motivation.
He may have had over 40 years in the game but this does not necessarily make him right when he goes into games with an unbalanced midfield of Luka, Mcarthur and Schlupp ( leaving out Kouyate).
Or where he insists on having both Kelly and Ward on the bench at home at the expense of a winger ( Sako), if we do need to try something different.
I’m not saying this on the back of yesterday’s result and have felt this way for some time.

Yep, a very ugly stat when you add that only 4 teams in the league have scored less goals away than we have scored at home !!!

Need to take a look at Soton 2nd goal. Midfielder belting along with the play, earning a free kick (and possible red card with another ref) which they score from. No side ways passing mids there and a decent dead ball taker. Two areas we are weak in. Lots to do in our attacking presence over the pre season if we survive.

Which is why we need to buy Harry Kane!

Over our 2 games with Brighton this season they’ve had 6 shots on target and scored 5 ? It’s safe to say their not usually that clinical.
Also yesterday’s opener coming from a hoof clearance which went straight to Murray via wind assistance and a slip from the normally very reliable Tomkins. Add to this Murray being an ex player and the fantastic finish from a player that wasn’t even meant to be playing. I think it’s safe to say they got the rub of the green.

Houghton knew what he was doing he worked out how to stop us and in truth they got some of the luck we had last week against the foxes. So a bad day best forget it and move on.

Can’t afford to carry players in any game and as much as there’s frustration regarding Roy’s team selection and midfield PVA and Townsend were abysmal yesterday.

Probably not a popular opinion but Wan Bissaka isn’t offering much of an attacking threat in these home games either when teams sit back although he’s had his moments on the break away from home.

Is a good point, Chris Hughton is an excellent manager, much as we were poor, sometimes though you can only play as well as the other team let you and weed were organised, snapping into every challenge as soon as we got the ball and they wanted it more, and that’s down to Hughton’s Management.
