I thought the announcer did say Rakip somehow when he said Riederwald. Shame the subs are weak or Roy can't rely on them. We've needed some.

When Allardyce was the manager the January signings played a pivotal part in ensuring our survival. When Hodgson was at Fulham in 2007-08 he made a few January signings including Hangeland who played a big part in their survival that season. Two of our January signings haven't even made it onto the pitch !

Everton fan here lads.

I watched every minute of your last 2 games and have to say you played extremely well in both and were desperately unlucky not to take points from both matches.

My team is playing so badly that I watched your games to check out the competition to avoid relegation.

Based on what I saw you are more deserving of a place in the Premier League next season than us.

Really hope you stay up lads. You play some good stuff.

At the end of the day for all our positives we conceded some poor goals as we did against Tottenham and perhaps fatigue played it's part.Cannot blame Hennessey for the goals but he really gave me the jitters with the way he dealt with crosses and his slowness to come off his line.

Hennessey's lack of command of his own 6 yard box is quite plain to see and it must affect the other players. Even that split second hesitation that can mean the difference between the opposition getting to a ball first.
"Is he coming to collect?" "Is he staying on his line?" Seems to me that most of the time there is uncertainty about what goalkeeping decision he is about to make.

On one cross the ball went through his hands like a bar of soap and at the other end he made a right hash of a couple of corners which went over him.

Also in the first half his starting positions weren't good and I recall an instance where he was slow of his line and had to spread his arms in the air to block the shot and it all looked very unconvincing.Same against Tottenham at the Holmesdale End when he was not positive at all and made contact with their player as the ball was cleared in front of goal.

He makes some good saves and did so again last nightbut he is not Premieship class with command of his area, crosses, coming out etc. I'm afraid.

Lingaard could've got to one in the first half in the corner of the box Holmesdale/main stand but because it's either a situation you usually don't get to first or he bottled it Lingaard didn't bother.

Nice message, if you are a genuine Toffee and not some weirdo Brighton fan posing as a kiss arse (has happened before). I think we're down and out tbh mate, Parish has relegated us. The difference between us and yous is that you lot have the backing of a chairman, which will see you safe for foreseeable future. Ours is more concerned about reputation and generating a decent salary

Before the game most would have expected us to lose an it was only the two goal lead that makes it another hard one to take.
We will doubtless lose to Chelsea and Liverpool as well but these aren't the games that will decide our season. We have to win games against the lower teams and get at least 36 points. Last night was the best Wilfless performance from us and Bissaka was genuinely exceptional. Shlupp also made a difference. We have to turn it on when not playing the big boys.
