Loans can go through pretty quickly and if they seriously wanted to loan him out they will drop those demands over the next couple of days. Sounds like they were just chancing it.

Don't see how he gets into our team. If Meyer is anywhere near as good as he's supposed to be then he plays rather than RLC. Why come here to sit on the bench? Well he has played on left for us and right for England so that is an option. He's a better player than Schlupp and McArthur so could replace either

However, we are in a stronger position than a week ago to hold out for a good deal. I suspect he may go elsewhere

I think Meyer is more likely to sit next to Luka and be the footballing brain in the midfield like Yohan was. It’s where he was performing his best in the last couple of seasons, and his interceptions last year were a league high. Yohan also had the PL third highest interceptions last year, so as well as both being technically gifted, they both read the game well. RLC can perform in a number of positions, and with 4 or 5 midfield players on the pitch at any given time, plus our injury luck, all our midfield players: Macca, Luka, Meyer, Andros, Schlupp, Kouyate and potentially RLC would get plenty of minutes. If we play Andros up top with Zaha against teams, that’s another option that opens up an extra midfield space.

Didn't figure in the Community Shield ? And this : Loftus-Cheek admitted last month that he has struggled with a lack of opportunities at Chelsea. ‘It’s been so difficult to go from playing every game then get to the seniors and not be given a chance,’ the England international said. ‘It’s really difficult mentally, there’s only so long you just enjoy training with top players. From a year ago, I’ve improved so much from playing. A game situation is completely different. With the likes of Hudson Odoi, Abraham, Drinkwater and new recruit Jorginho getting runs out in this game don't know where RLC sits presently. Suspect on the Chelski bench if at all. I am still hoping we see him back in the red and blue. A classy player who adds a completely different dynamic to the team. It was great watching him last year and if somehow we can end the window with him, Zaha and Meyer plus the others then I think it will be a fantastic achievement! I won't hold my breath though. Think Chelsea will keep him, not play him and then loan/sell at Christmas to the highest bidder. Edited by samprior (05 Aug 2018 10.44pm)

A mistake, or has the PL been premature in announcing RLC's return to us? Let's hope it is the latter
