were nowhere near cut adrift, 30 points come may will be enough

other teams down the bottom dont have the quality we have, pains me to say this but we actually liok far more dangerous without big bentekkers on the pitch, its like we actually have to think about what were doing rather than just “pump it up to bentekkers”

Every season people quote numbers like 35, 34, 32, even, with respect, moronic points totals like 30 points.

It will always be 39 or maybe 37. Sometimes the teams you play at the end mean it can be lower than the 40, but 40 is what you aim for.

Teams pick up more points at the end but you can also not pick them up. That is not 'being fine.' We're not fine. We're playing decent football over 85 yards. At either end it's not up to standard at crucial times and that's when and where points are won at the top level with fine margins.

We cannot afford this cr&p any longer.

Agree.

The AVERAGE for survival is 36 and there've been three relegations on 40 points or more. Only once has a team survived on 30 points:

Anyone who thinks we're currently "fine" is either deluded to the point of requiring psychiatric treatment or a bloody fool.

Agreed and add to that only one team PL history who has had five points or less at this stage of the season has survived the drop and that was Everton why back in 1997 who had just four points at this time!

Speroni’s error.
The save later would not have been needed,we would of gone in at H/T 2-1 up,the crowd would of been up and the game would have played out differently.

It was Speroni's lunacy. As said before it was not an error in was unprofessional.

Think about the game situation , 2-1 up in first half injury time, greasy soaking wet conditions, the time he had to consider his options.
The ball came to him , all he had to do was kick it away from goal , no Speroni decides to prove he wan't wrong all those years ago by taking on a risky dummy, he got away with that , now all he has to do is kick the ball as far as possible away from goal and we go in 2-1 up , no he decides to pass the ball which on on pitch that wet is hard to get the weight right , to a man with three opposition players around him.

He cost us two points today for sure this isn't like the silly speculation surrounding most of Hennessey's alleged mistakes about what he could or should have stopped. If we go on that basis Speroni could be held accountable for another three points dropped .
The save later , if we are talking about the one just after half time while Everton were enjoying their gifted revival would have been judged as bread and butter if Hennessey had made it as it was at a nice height and almost straight at him.

Hennessey at least is capable of keeping clean sheets at this level and should be given a chance to play in the team now it is playing better, and not playing the likes of Man City and Man U.

Indeed. Not necessarily a valid or sensible reason, but a reason nevertheless.

Just seen match of the day.

How the f*** has the ref given that pen?? Absolotuly disgusting. Standard of refs are a disgrace!!

That second goal was both Speroni and Danns fault. f*** ups like these are why we're going down.

Benteke has only just came back from injury but still missing easy chances like he was before he got injured. Badly need 2 strikers in Jan.

All he had to do was kick it out or up field, when it came to him. No he decides to be flash and beat the attacker, then slides it to Dann, who had a man on him, whilst Sclupp was free.
He did the same against Campbell and Everton years ago.

And he didn't play for us again for years afterwards. Sorry Julian you are a legend and we love you but enough is enough. It's Wayne's turn again now.

Only consolation thought Pickford looked poor for our 1st goal. Shows even if you splash the cash doesn't always give you a safe pair of hands. Positioning looked a bit iffy for Tekkers chance but proved academic

Let's hope we can get a decent signing in Jan, this bit of business may go in parts to whether we avoid the drop.

I always wanted him to kick it upfield whenever he has the ball and never wanted him to give it to any of the back 4.

The problem is every time he went long before Benteke came on we had no height up front and just conceded possession. Having said that, if there is no real option with seconds to play then it needs to go long or into the stands.

Just imagine if Parish had not refused to pay an agent's small commission last window, Niasse, the villain of the piece yesterday, would have been scoring goals for us and in all probability, we would not be rock bottom of this league andi such dire straits.

Well done,that man!!

Was thinking the same thing, what the hell is Sakho playing at! Why is he trying this crazy stuff, he’s not comfortable enough on the ball to be doing that. He’s a liability on the ball. Has he not learn from that mental backheel against Chelsea. He’s going to cost us a goal. Heart attack stuff when he’s last man
