To put it in perspective, Bentenke scored 15 league goals last season which was the first time since Andy Johnson we had a player score double figures in the PL.
Have a look at some of the big money strikers in this league and he doesn't look so bad (eg the dutch guy at Spurs, Slimani at Leicester and, until today, Niassie at Everton). The issue isn't Bentenke, it's Parish's apparent decision that the best way to do business is on the last day. Hopefully he will have learned that this is too risky.

A striker scoring a goal every two and half games? Whoop-de-fvcking-doo

Steve Parish just does not deserve abuse - constructive criticism maybe but that's all.
There have been bad decisions and there has been bad luck.
Pulis walking out - yes - two control freaks in him and Parish but I do not blame Parish for Pulis walking.
Allardyce leaving - why is that Parish's fault really?
In a quiet moment I am sure he would though admit that
- 1. Keeping Pardew for so long is still having an effect.
2. Buying some of Pardew's numpties who are still with us was a big mistake
2. Not strengthening our ranks in the right way is having an effect.
3. Appointing De Boer has to be classed as a massaive mistake
4. Needing Hodgson who would never normally have been on our radar unless we had been deep in the mire is a result of 1 and 3 above!
He has done amazing things for us and we must never forget that and if we get out of this one then they should never be made again!

Correct Dolphin, there is no need for abuse against SP at all. But your list just about sums up our plight, it's long and harmful indeed!!

As Chairman he is making (regretfully) mistake after mistake. In most multi million £ companies he would be near the exit door. He needs to start getting it right and quick. Something is not right for us to have such a turnover of managers.

Nice, wouldn't like to work for you Rudi

Obviously he's made mistakes, but what about the things he got right?

Arguably our four best players this season may turn out to be, Sakho, RLC, TFM, Zaha... All signed contracts this window. But lets wash over that and only concentrate on the things he got wrong.

Manager turned out to be a bad call, so he gave him the bullet. New manager seems to be what we need, no? Many many people hoped frank would work out well, when it was obviious to parish this wouldnt be the case he showed him the door. Didn't f*** about, four games and he was out. Personally I see that as a strong decision.

so really other issues?

Failing to sign a keeper and a striker. bang to rights that should have been sorted.

But really thats only two things.

Just a bit of perspective over what the guy really has done so badly wrong.

Only? Only?

Those only 2 things, well 3 actually as Frank was a more risky Pardew and without any prem or big league experience whatsoever, can relegate you as soon as they become an issue. You can excuse someone for a mistake once or twice but Parish does this every year, then when Niasse's agent played him at his own game Parish took the risk once too many. It's not mistakes or errors, it's gross negligence.

Not out of the club. Just football car crashes. Parish knows no more than some people on forums. As soon as he extended Pardew his decisions were a ticking time bomb.

Not far off Ian Wright's record.

Give him service from the wings he will score.

Incomparable. Wrighty at the beginning was a sub much of the time so bit part appearances plus when he did start regularly (1987 I think) he provided loads of goals for Brighty too during the ensuing four seasons.

He was twice, maybe three times, the player Benteke is.

Plus, Ian cost us some corrugated iron and a few football shirts.

Agreed. Nobody would be more effective and a helluvalot cheaper. Though wouldn't putit past an agent getting Parish to sign Nobody up on £50k a week.

Yeah so you agree, two mistakes and three if you count taking a chance on De Boer a mistake.

What about the four quality signings he made this window and the two in Jan. See all i see you doing is focusing on his 2/3 mistakes and shouting he's not up to the job.

Take a measured approach and he's actually getting far more things right than wrong.

Its easy to look back through history and pick out all the mistakes... But thats not measured against the successes.

Surely if FdB was such a bad mistake then getting rid so quickly was a good decision? But lets forget that, because of course we're only focuses on his mistakes...

PLENTY worse chairman in football than Parish.

Oh and he's struggling with recruitment and needs help... He knows that, he's employed Freedman to help on that front. Bad choice? time will tell, but worked out well last time they teamed up.

Look at the class of player signed since Pardew has left and look at the squad littered with Pardew signings. I see progress but obviously we're a couple short but its IMO completely blinkered to think he's getting everything wrong.

Anyone who thinks 1 striker is excusable is a fool. That's it. Now he's injured, how does someone address that now. I'd laugh at your defence if wasn't so tragic.

And look at Niasse today. It Freedman wasn't looking after his own job he'd have made it clear to Parish how important it was to get that striker in, as Niasse went out to the car and back to Merseyside. If Freedman was the manager he would, but now we've another ex palace man protecting his own job, same as Pardew and that 7 at the most window when too many fools were masturbating themselves over Benteke being the answer to lb and def mid.

As I said. Gross negligence.
