This post has been merged from a topic called 'Roy Hodgson' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Roy Hodgson thread' by Midlands Eagle I find the digs at BS unnecessary. He was brought in/bought in to do a job and he did it, and we were happy that he did it. Quite simply; Roy deserves to be knighted for his services to football; in similar vein to another gentleman of the game, Sir Bobby Robson.

You are playing that same old record - I have already answered this 'charge' so have no intention of dignifying your accusation by regurgitating my response.
There is only one person, who this applies to and now you are trying to deny it. Hodgson took a gamble taking the job, but I expect he felt he had something to prove to himself after the England debacle and a few other people.

No you haven't. TBF when Hodgson came in a lot of us were saying "WTF?" A manager who few of us (and not myself) were not exactly keen on last Summer coming in to rescue us from having been totally pardewed by one of the worst manager performances in modern history, to try to stay up with 0 points after four games and a series of difficult fixtures to come; and the Euros didn't exactly fill us with confidence either. We all came round to the idea that he could, might, then probably would do it as he transformed our quality, stamina and resilience in the face of ridiculous injuries and a poor winter window and as the results came despite all this. Except you.

Have we finally found the man to take us up a step (top 10 with a cheeky eye on Europe if everything went our way)? All I know is I love watching this team thanks to him and his coaches and he is easily the most dignified manager I can remember for us

All I have done is to assert that you are playing that same old record by repeating a risible accusation and that I have responded to the 'Charge'.No need for me to regurgitate my reposte and dignify your accusation. Anyhow the topic is about our esteemed manager Roy Hodgson, so let's NOT de-rail it with contretemps of this nature. Edited by Willo (13 May 2018 10.27pm)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Roy Hodgson' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Roy Hodgson thread' by Midlands Eagle This is the best football I've ever seen Palace play. Some of our attacking moves in recent weeks have been unplayable. Hodgson is a perfect manager for a team like us, where our attacking verve is all too often matched with a lack of discipline. Roy has hardwired that discipline in to each and every man who puts that jersey on, and used it as the base from which players like Wilf and Ruben can play with freedom and imagination. His tactical tweaks are a masterclass, he understands the club and is working with a group of players whose talent levels must be up there with some of the best sides he's overseen. I think next year, if we keep him and our main players, we should be aiming for Europe, without question. I am already looking forward to it and honestly think there isn't a team in the league we should be scared of. Eagles!
