Yes, very frustrating - but I think it's five points lost, not seven. We would have won the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth, drawn the 0-1 loss to the Spammers, and won today instead of drawing. That equals five points, but still enough to have us in mid-table. Let's hope Big Sam sorts this too. Edited by peterg (26 Dec 2016 3.37pm) Yep, we don't want to start blaming him for the mistakes of the players as well!

Definite improvement today.Cabaye and Townsend showed quality today.Flamini was another plus, and Hennessey has started to come out and take crosses. However the central defenders still seem jittery but that is a case of rebuilding confidence.

Our 2nd or best performer this season and you want to sell him. Righto. If you watch it you'll see Zaha had a lot to do before he could provide anything from that position and as far as cons being worth doing, that was probably one. It wasn't a penalty but he didn't leave his leg in either so shouldn't have been a booking.

Haven't seen today's pen but the problem seems to be a lack of variety in his penalties- too predictable I think if he drops his shorts while he slows down and sings god save the queen it might well have a positive effect for him.....not every time mind you as your quite right, he does take the piss.

And the closing down in 2's and 3's and being allowed to pass back or sideways, probably why Mutch came on. Loves a pass inside rather than forward. Edited by Rudi Hedman (26 Dec 2016 7.49pm)

Sam knows the fine margins, respect for points and how precious they and your goal and scoring goals are. 'Respect the point away from home' was his comment post-match. Very subtle but you know he's highlighting a major problem. We have good players but the mentality is all wrong, so is the preparation, alertness and fitness. It'll all change for the better. Shame we didn't win today because we should've been in a position to test us seeing a game out for 45 mins but if we had been picking up a point regularly when we should've like today, we wouldn't question today, or probably even have Sam here at all.

Zaha needs better players around him, today he put in the most beautiful ball along their box and not a toffee was anywhere near it, he is wasted playing for us, he knows it and he will without any question of doubt be going to Spurs where his abilities will be lapped up and used for his own good and that of theirs + it will help us to have a player who will be able to play the more simple stuff befitting the players that play around him. He is, too good for us.

He is getting closer to their level but he needs to do it for a bit longer. If you see his defending he assumes they can't get round him but enough times for it to be an issue at the top level a player can knock it outside of him and whip a cross in. A mistake if he goes next month IMO.
