Someone on the bbs said that reports in France say he'll be signing for wait for it.

West Ham

Sorry to say this, but WMU are a far more established PL 'name' than Palace, and are about to move into a brilliant Olympic stadium, and pay higher wages. Difficult to compete against that

Firstly, WHU might be a bigger name, but, let's face it, they've been utter pants for several seasons now and have got out of jail several times when looking like relegation candidates.

As for the Olympic Stadium, it will be utterly lifeless and half of it will be empty most games. They'll all need binoculars to see anything.

Stadiums don't give you advantages. Fans do.

West ham have finished two places behind us in the last two seasons , last season they were just 1 point behind us , so if they were utter pants what would you describe are seasons as? Also regardless of atmosphere at the Olympic stadium , they are going to have 45000+ There as minimum every week , they may even sell it out most games they have the potential to , with the increased revenue and good management west ham have the potential to break into The top 6 , something we won't be doing anytime soon.

Absolute bollox. Another one fallen for the West Ham propaganda machine. Average club, average fans, believe they won the World Cup and have some how bagged a 45k capacity stadium for only 12m in an area where Leyton Orient are the local club, an absolute disgrace.

Fallen for the propaganda machine ? No I just know what I'm talking about , and don't have palace tinted glasses on , they have been a fairly average club yes but have huge potential , so what part is bollocks , do you not think west ham will get an extra 10 k fans in from moving to a state of the art stadium? ,which won't result in increased revenue then no? and if they keep signing players like payet and manage to get the likes of cabaye they will challenge the top 8 and even the top 6 , you seem to be waffling on about nothing , I haven't mentioned west hams history , or them moving in on an orient area and I also haven't said they are a great club with great fans , the facts are this stadium regardless of how they have got it will give west ham the opportunity to become a top club instead of , like you said , an average one.

If you like you can sign up to West Ham's forum where I'm sure they will appreciate the arse-licking of their club much more.

It's not arse licking its a fair reflection on what could Happen , and I'll stay on this forum as I support palace , been posting on here a lot longer than you fella , notice you joined when we were up the top of the championship , didn't fancy joining before then? maybe to score a play off ticket?

WTF has how long he's been on this forum for got to do with anything? He may have supported Palace all his life but only signed up recently to add his views. He may also have been a season ticket holder for a number of years in the lower Holmesdale, therefore not needing to scrounge a ticket from someone on here!!!

What could happen (your phrase), is that we could grow and eclipse Wet Spam, who haven't done fvck all for years, we also beat them in the PO final, remember that? Two bob club and fans.

Anyway, has Cabaye signed yet?

Edited by Plane (30 Jun 2015 2.29pm)

Do you reckon it's the West Ham fan we saw in the pub by Liverpool Street giving it the big'un after we tonked them at their place - seems to share a lot of the same characteristics!

Anyway looks like this is gathering some legs again, will be over the moon if we can pull this off! Mirror saying it could be done by next week, but the Mirror does say a lot of things...

A west ham fan who's been going to selhurst park for the best part for over 20 years, good one, and it's got everything to do with it laddo when I'm being told to post on a west ham forum , just because I think a stadium will allow them to kick on , especially by someone who could quite easily be one of the new fans we've gained in the last two years , and what would you know of my character ? one things for sure don't need my mates to back me up on here like you haha , whether you two like it or not west ham getting a huge stadium for f*** all will help them , I'm guessing both of you want selhurst redeveloped ?

Why do people think 45k+ stadium= success?! Just stop talking absolute bollox already! Newcastle have a 52k stadium, never did them much favours. Sunderland have a 49k stadium yet fight relegation every season! Aston Villa are another similar example with their slightly smaller 42k seater stadium. Yet Swansea and Crystal Palace have a 20-26,000 seater stadium, I know who I would rather support!

Just got notified about this Tweet, allegedly it's Cabaye at Mayday for his medical earlier ?

I don't know the tweeter well so can't vouch for them. Anyone know would a players medical really be done at a hospital such as Mayday ?

Was just a stupid joke.

At the end of the day, its success on the pitch that counts over everything. That's what brings quality players! And since we have been in the PL we have been better than West Ham, Aston Villa, Sunderland and this season clearly better than Newcastle too.

Not sure that is right though.

If we carry on the way we are or even in a similar vein, Selhurst is simply NOT big enough. Wrap it up all you like but it is far, far too small.

Swansea as a comparison, is not a good one. It is South West Wales (nightmare to get to from North Wales - at least 3 1/2 hours) and is unlikely to need more seats anytime soon.

I have been a couple of times and I have never seen it sold out. They don't have the population density.

Selhurst is in the most densely populated area in the Country but has a fraction of other Premier League clubs. That will change no doubt, but, I am afraid, crowd size is important.

It doesn't equal success , but bigger stadium and revenue = more money and that money invested well , will lead to success. So perhaps you should stop talking bollocks yourself as I haven't said it guarantees success , just that this stadium does give west ham the potenial to kick on, I want us to improve and expand selhurst for those exact reasons , I'm assuming your another one who wants selhurst improved ? pretty pointless doing it though according You lot.

I wasn't just referring to you, some Palace fans on this board and including SPAM fans on Twitter seems to think every player wants to go to them because of their shiny new 45k+ stadium when it couldn't further from the truth.

I won't include Newcastle in this reply because their owner has become a bit of a tight arse, so lets go for Sunderland for this.

Sunderland have a 49k which is bigger than the Olympic Stadium in an area surrounded by little to no other big clubs so they have a particularly large catchment area. By your logic potentially they should they should be competing for top 6 every season. They get lots in revenue yes that is true, they have the money but cannot attract the kind of players the clubs who have good success on the pitch can.

The good thing is we are one of those clubs who have good success on the pitch despite our 'mediocre' stadium.

Looking more and more likely but I'm not allowing myself to hope yet!

If we do pull this off, it'll be a miracle that we convinced him to sign - but also that clubs like Spurs and Liverpool, and their equivalents around Europe, didn't take advantage.
