Assuming Milliband doesn't go back on his assurance that there will be no deal of any sort with the SNP, the post-election days are going to be interesting. In a way, he may not have to do a deal with them to get Labour policy through Parliament - the SNP can't vote against them in parliament as that would effectively mean they were siding with the Tory opposition. I know nothing about the technicalities of forming a government, but does labour need the SNP? Labour have lost. They need the SNP to form a govt but they are now facing the English "keep the SNP out" backlash. I think that not only will the Tories win they may get a majority.

Cameron 7/10: Finally looked like he was bothered about the campaign, he's been so lackadaisical so far it's like he couldn't be arsed. Thought he talked with sense and reason. Did get a bit flustered at times though. Miliband: 4/10: He got absolutely roasted on the economy (shock of shocks) and clearly got bothered by it. IMO he has zero credibility in this area and of course it's the economy, stupid, that wins elections. Fared better on issues of fairness, so no change there really. Clegg: 0/10: Was OK but everything he said is probably a lie.

Poor ed nearly fell off the stage
He can't eat a bacon sandwich without gurning, now he can't walk off a stage without stumbling. Him and Balls are a joke pairing that shouldn't be let anywhere near 10/11 Downing Street.

Cameron was very good at ducking and diving and putting a deflecting positive spin on just about everything even the rotten bedroom tax. Clegg lost credibility years ago and Ed should not really be in politics at this level. Awful choices to be made. Bunch of superficial w@nkers. Bring back John Major.

I like Nick Clegg and think that he is probably the most genuine of the party leaders. I am not convinced that come polling day that the student fees will will do as much harm as some think. It will certainly dent the LDs but not killer blow? I'm not so sure.

All the spin doctors should be sacked. I mean, we all know that whatever policies and pledges the parties have made in the past few months will almost certainly be lies but couldn't Lynton Crosby, David Axelrod and even one of Clegg's 15 (FIFTEEN!) special advisors have given the electorate a bit more of an exciting contest? The only interesting decision I've got to make before next Thursday is how I want to spoil my ballot paper... Edited by serial thriller (01 May 2015 11.15am)

Like Cameron he's just saying what he needs to say to maximise his vote. Beyond that he's banking on the fact that the SNP need Labour as much as Labour need them. If you automatically have ideas that are more closely aligned to another party you don't need a deal as such. The question is would the SNP vote down a Labour Queens speech? The answer is no. Would they vote down a Conservative one? Yes. Tories may well get a majority.. and they may well need one. Edited by imbored (01 May 2015 11.25am)

You can't take any of them seriously. But following the election it looks like Tory and Labour will have roughly the same number of seats, give or take 5-10 either way. Libs will lose probably around 20-30 seats, but that will still leave them with 35 or more, so they will potentially form part of the next coalition. My hunch is they'll throw their hand in with Labour this time. He may not be able to eat a bacon sandwich convincingly, but he could well be the next PM!

Surely the best way to deal with 0 hour contracts is to make it a requirement that anyone offered a 0 hour contract is also offered a second contract with a certain amount of hours. Therefore it gives the employee the choice which contract to choose and if indeed they are the student type that wants 0 hours then they have that opportunity but also gets rid of the problems with people who can't get anything else.
