Good to see the fracking idea has been binned- how useless was lizzy dripping? I did mention it - but got shot down - still, frack off is a good start to be fair!

This is not 2019 we are not in the same position as then, and mostly the same old faces, same old furnture. The re-appointment of Braverman an early black mark against him why do it anyway she is only going to be an utter pain. He is likeable and of course he has a huge advantage as Truss was appalling. In the country its very bleak and its down to the tories 12 years in office. It's as though they weren't in the same country at all.

I think we need to keep all our options open if we are going to achieve energy security. So long as it can be done safely and cleanly I would continue to investigate, and also to get tougher with the planning requirements. Some of the reasons for delay are ridiculous.

Maybe he wants Braverman inside the camp, where some control can be maintained, than as a loose cannon outside? The rest seems a wise blend of those already in place, and those with prior experience of their brief. Boring perhaps, but also able. It's not though just down to the Tories last 12 years. Covid and the war have contributed. Much of it has been though. Being unwilling to face down UKIP, call and miscalculate the referendum which resulted in us inflicting the stupidity of Brexit on ourselves was the biggest mistake. Then the populist joker Johnson followed by the terrible Truss. All avoidable pain.

But I feel it can"t be done cleanly wisbech- and causes earthquakes- the other thing is the "with the communities permission" thing, I was looking forward to the meetings, protests, then the CON minister saying an agreement has been reached , its a YES!D, after a private lunch with the frackers obviously, no minutes taken, lots of gifts , and the house prices of those lucky people dropping asap! But if we were to have fracking, I was going to suggest Richmond in Yorkshire would be an excellent place to start!
