Imagine a conservative politician who actually stood up for conservatism with even half the zeal of this woman. By the way, it's Harriet Hageman....the women who will beat and take Liz Cheney's republican seat. [Tweet Link]

Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Aug 2022 8.27pm) I would much prefer not to. That's not conservatism at all! It's a nightmare of populist rhetoric being thrown like red meat to scavenging wolves. That someone like that will probably beat the honourable, decent, law-abiding Liz Cheney is as strong an indication of just how far the standards of politics on the right have fallen in the USA. How can this have happened? Is their education system that poor? Even recognising that self-reliance and small government are much more important to the average American than to the average European, this is something that ought to concern everyone. I see a disaster ahead for the USA, because these people don't know the meaning of compromise, and to take their course would see the USA go back a century socially. This is a country in terminal decline. Without them, there will be a huge vacuum in world politics, which only the Chinese can fill. If ever you needed to understand why Brexit was such a very stupid idea, this is it.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Edited by Stirlingsays (07 Aug 2022 8.27pm) In England, at best she'd be treated like David Icke, at worst, Tommy Robinson. One can imagine the Guardian and BBC pieces.
