This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Neither did they stop him partying at a recent award ceremony. Complete coward by getting his wife to make the statement, she should be working on taking him for all she can get.

His career is probably over and if he is one of those people whose self worth is based on their job and status then it will be a huge shock. That doesn't excuse his behaviour though.

But but everybody loves the BBC it's so popular, beside Netflix and Amazon Prime seem to survive without compulsion. You cannot seriously compare the BBC with either Netflix or Amazon Prime.

There is obvious truth in the above. No one is forced to watch the BBC but we all benefit from it in some way, despite those who cannot see why. Finding a way in which everyone pays something, but without the government of the day being able to threaten it if it upsets them, makes perfect sense to me. Charging a streaming levy via broadband costs looks an appealing option that most wouldn't even notice. Please explain oh mighty oracle, how do I benefit from the BBC

Different in that one presenter works for a rival so the story is in the public interest. No, different because in one the presenter admitted the inappropriate behaviour. The BBC reported his admission and the consequences. In the other nothing other than assertions had been made that were under investigation. That was reported as has been the recent statement. The BBC have been consistent, even if those who dislike them choose not to see it. The BBC have not “allowed” anything at all. They no more own the private lives of their employees than any other employer. They have a complaints procedure which doubtless will be reviewed again after this episode.
