Ukraine war: Evidence shows widespread use of cluster munitions in Kharkiv - [Link] Russia has killed hundreds of civilians in the north-eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv using indiscriminate shelling and widely-banned cluster munitions, according to new research by Amnesty International. Quote
Amnesty said it had found evidence of Russian forces repeatedly using 9N210/9N235 cluster bombs, as well as "scatterable" munitions - rockets that eject smaller mines that explode later at timed intervals. The BBC visited five separate impact sites in residential neighbourhoods in Kharkiv and saw evidence of a distinctive, symmetrical spalling effect associated with cluster munitions. We showed images from the sites to three weapons experts, who all said the impacts were consistent with the controversial weapons. "Those impacts are from cluster munitions, it's a classic signature," said Mark Hizney, a senior researcher in the arms division of Human Rights Watch, a campaign group. "And in one image you can see a remnant of a stabiliser fin from one of the submunitions," he said. W12 will be outraged......... that more 'neo nazis' weren't wiped out!! Ready to finally admit that Russia has been indiscriminately killing civilains, or is this instead propoganda from the Wicked West and Amnesty International? Maybe Russia should send in award winning journalist Graham Phillips to investigate?

Actually, I have got a lot done. Cleaned the car, Tcut a few scratches, jet washed some garden furniture, cut the lawn, walked the dog and cooked dinner. Got to rest my legs these days from time to time, and that's when I catch up on the various platforms I monitor, this one included. I always check to see if there's any transfer news before reading the latest attempts at an epistle to the Gods of right wing thought, to be found here. Would you buy a used car from Wisbech?!

There is no such thing as a fair war. The use of Chlorine gas in WWI, the indiscriminate blanket bombing of cities such as Coventry in WW2. The list is endless. The best alternative is no war but there doesn’t appear to be an appetite for that from either side at present. I want to see the whole of Europe pushing for peace in the region but all I see on the media is the rhetoric of war and what latest goodies the West have given to Ukraine to try and defend themselves.

As I am no Arthur Daley, you would be very safe buying a car from me. I don't hide things. The last one I sold, which was over 5 years ago, had been paid for in full, in cash, the day before it was booked for its MOT, which I had arranged. He bought it "as seen". So the guy went away to arrange his insurance and to collect the car the next day. A fault was found, which failed it. He was very naive, and I could have kept quiet, but I didn't. I told him, got the fault fixed and the car retested.

For sale. !939 Beetle. High mileage and pulls massively to the right, but should be OK for tours of Europe.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

On a personal note, I've been working in a factory recently. Everyone is all PPE'd and masked-up, so difficult to recognise people outside work.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

When your're in a war as result of your country being invaded, these things can be one of the sad realities. Any instances that result in civilian attack or deaths whether Ukranian or Russia are rightly comdened by any decent person when they are highlighted. I'm not the one denying all and any instances of civilain attacks by one side, or passing it off as fake news, propoganda or saying that wicked nazis must have occupied these areas and that's why civilians got caught up in it. That is the difference. When Russia bombed a maternity hosital the amount of excusing, denying and consiracy theories pumped out of here to avoid the facts and acknowledge the suffering was staggering. And nothing has changed in those attitudes since.

I'm open to the idea that Russians or Separatists attacked civilians but I see neither any direct evidence or a clear motive and I no longer believe anything our media are telling us. I can however show you video of the aftermath of the market shelling in Donestk (which is entirely under seperatist control) and the civilian casualties (including a child). I'm not going to do that for obvious reasons but I trust my own eyes. There is no military reason to do this especially when you are low on ammunition.

Just think the amount of lives that could have been saved if Zelenskyy met Russias demands early on or played ball with them! Instead he is busy getting all the attention and photoshoots with politicians and celebrities! He really does not want to let go of his power!
