I see Johnson supporters think there should be an election as well.

Apologies Teddy, you are right, I just checked wiki- I hadn"t heard it before today on LBC, so they can"t be trusted either! The home of James O'Brien isn't to be trusted? This is unwelcome news.

All that dosh Teddy and Jacobs still stuck in the 1950"s!With this cabinet clear out, I can almost live with next 2 years of the CONS, it"s just seeing those same old faces , repeating the same nonsense to different media outlets all day long, that drove me mad! So, if the likes of Jacob, Robert, Nadine , Priti and the like are kept out of sight, my stress levels drop! I look forward to the days when number 10 isn"t the actual news every day! Just think, in another, few year, we will have mini-me son of Rees Mogg . Edited by Spiderman (25 Oct 2022 6.24pm)

Was she really sacked for security reasons? I personally doubt her “offence” was that serious but Who knows. Obviously nothing too serious or I’m sure someone will dig up the dirt. Edited by Spiderman (25 Oct 2022 6.29pm)

I see Johnson supporters think there should be an election as well. Johnson was the only Tory who could claim a genuine electoral mandate. Sunak could not even beat Truss in an election. Truss came into number 10 following a specific process. To have then replaced in such a ludicrously short period of time, and replaced by the man she beat, is rubbing our faces in it. And Sunak is a place holder. He cannot win an election. There was no guarantee with Johnson either but the man can get people out to vote. People can throw every kind of slur at him, and the vast majority are more than justified, but the man does have a certain political charisma which means he can turn votes around. The Tories have seemingly engineered a situation in which a Labour Government is as good on assured come the next election. And this is with a 70 plus majority. Something is truly odd.

What do we need from a new tory PM after 12 years. New faces, talent, bright new promotions, ideas. Instead its the same old faces bar a few who have failed again and again. They look like a clear-out of Grace Bros.

But what warning lights? Inflation is coming down. Unemployment is down (the problem is to many jobs available). And since when has a policy of reducing taxes been something a Conservative is not meant to support? OK, perhaps playing Devils Advocate on this but all I seem to see is hysteria. I genuinely believe that the elites want an election because they want Starmer in number 10 by way of pushing us back into the EU. 100% what Washington wants for all kinds of reasons. And more than happy to put the boot into this Tory Government but all I see is an economy doing fantastically well in some ways whilst generally suffering from a Covid hang-over that is impacting all over. What is wrong with wanting to put more money in people's pockets?
I can only prompt you to watch a link that I posted a few days ago. Learning about the underlying state of the economy is vital for anyone of us come later in the decade. Essentially, aside from significant tax rises and cuts (fingers crossed for people), we're going to see another round of massive borrowing....but the length of road for this can to get kicked down is getting shorter and shorter.
