At least not yet, you aren't having to sit through one of these 'Covid 19 telethons' where multi millionaire 'artistes' guaranteed to be oh so liberal, woke & right on are preaching to us plebs that 'We are all in this together'

No they haven't because they have ethics at the centre of what they do. Trump has no ethics at all. In my opinion one of the reasons Trump is doing this is that he could maybe salvage his Presidency by stopping the economy going into free fall, and he is willing to ignore the advice of his medical experts to do so. He is prepared to risk lives to save himself and is betting the whole house on getting lucky. He has run into a brick wall with the governors who have the real decisions in their hands and not his. So now he is winding up his base and encouraging them to make trouble for the governors on the basis their "freedoms" are being eroded. He has already given them someone other than himself to blame. Now it's the "Chinese Virus" and not Covid 19. He always finds playground epithets for his perceived enemies ("Crooked Hilary", "Sleepy Joe Biden", etc etc). Then he attacks the WHO. It's naked self interest and divisive politics at it's worst. For Trump though it's just business as usual. Why does this matter to us? Everything that happens in the USA has an impact on us, but especially now. With us now outside the EU our pain is going to be greater than it need be, if they mess up. So I would feel much more comfortable knowing that the POTUS was following the science and not either his own instinct or his craving to avoid a defeat. Doctors ethics? OK.

And tbh with your job you could see if there was a better and safer way I'm sure. Good luck to you and yours. I read that the release scheme has gone pear shaped.

Pro rata would be about 9000. Yeah, I reckon with the increased living spaces perhaps even around where we are. I reckon all those who are in a position to get this....will probably get this before the vaccine comes in. Probably around 60-70 percent of us. Only those willing to isolate all that time (and personally I think the vulnerable need to) or who are single and naturally stand offish with a job that allows that will probably escape this in time for the vaccine. Most of us won't know we've had it.....I'm hoping I'm one of those as I'm in the vulnerable group. Regardless if I haven't had it I'll get it once the kids go back. Come get me virus, I'm gonna eat you up and spit you out.

Very true, though interestingly it's quite a lot higher in NHS front line deaths as well. I have my own thoughts on that but we'll see I suppose....but in short, cultural. Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Apr 2020 9.59pm) Last week, in news they were listing doctors name who lost their lives due to virus. They were 6 of them and all were BAME. I think there is also a data that 45% of doctors in NHS are BAME, so there may be a corelation.

I hope you are safe and correct but this bug can kill the fittest amongst us. I read that it has a VO rating ( amount of bug) relevant to how severe you may get it. Not sure if VO is the correct terminology but you get my drift. Also I think contact is why so many have it. Not sneezing and coughing. Early it may have been that but now its touching something someone contagious has previously touched. I'm immunosuppressive along with my boys condition so gotter be a bit careful.

I reckon it's similar to the Italian and Spanish stuff....they are just less stand offish than northern Europeans and live in larger family groups. Either that or it's a statistical fluke. I don't think whitie is forcing them to near exclusively deal with those with the virus.....but hey, all possibilities are open until they aren't.
