You want to pay a licence fee for that - go ahead. You are funding perverts. I would much rather believe in my convictions and have absolutely no problem getting done for it at all. I won't hide it whatsoever. No-one involved in this story has yet to be officially accused of anything, let alone convicted. That includes being a “pervert”. All that exists are assertions which have been denied. The BBC no more intentionally employs perverts than does the Sun. The Sun does though employ people willing to obtain information illegally. The licence fee is the guarantee of freedom from political influence, which is a very precious asset to our country. The truth is indeed what’s important. That can only be discovered through diligent, quiet investigation and not via scurrilous headlines in a tabloid with an agenda.

At this point I think if the name were incorrect we'd be hearing a lot more about it. What's more the point is what is being accused, which can sometimes fly off the handle. Who knows it may be even worse but no one really knows and claims and counter claims are out there. Edited by Stirlingsays (12 Jul 2023 12.11am)

Whoever HE is, his name's all over twitter. Including a photo, which may have been doctored. I dunno, these days on internet, nothing is as it seems.

These days being a pervert is seen in some quarters as being something to be 'celebrated' with opportunities given to the perverts to 'teach' their degeneracy to children. Also, saying a licence fee guarantees freedom from political influence, is nonsense. Edited by georgenorman (12 Jul 2023 6.32am)

A movie of this scandal is already in the works, tentative title in " How brown is my valley "
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Perhaps you would explain why you regard the licence fee doesn’t guarantee freedom from political influence. Surely that’s it’s whole point?

Surely that’s it’s whole point? Many people and organisations do indeed celebrate perversion and critics of this are at times suppressed. How could a licence fee guarantee freedom from political influence? The BBC chairman himself said in December that the BBC “does have a liberal bias”. It’s certainly not the whole point of the licence fee to avoid political influence. The government in the 1920s setup the BBC no doubt to ensure political influence over what they saw as a crucial new means of public communication.
