Supposedly the add ons were very difficult to achieve. If so need to up the straight fee above £25 million with add ons, say £27.5 million and £2.5 million add ons. Might well of been a more realistic bid. Big fan of CPFC2010 - and I think we all can say That they have done an stupendous job up until now, but this whole Benteke saga is screaming naivety at me. SP is playing the business game in a football world. he has little knowledge of how to broker this deal with a club like Liverpool. Selling Bolasie before bringing in Benteke was a mistake. it just showed them that we have money to spend, made our position weaker and makes our constant haggling over 3-4 mill seem insulting (which vs 30mill isn't that much). If 32m is too expensive, then 26m is as well. For it to go on so long, and for us to still be asking for dodgy deals, is a bit embarrassing tbh. If we aint budging and they aint budging, then there's only one thing to do - walk away. go buy someone else. Bony is half the price, and a Lot more than half as good! and there are other players to go get. "It was a Team effort, I guess it took all players working together to lose this one"

As you say he is a proven scorer. He scored 13 in his last season for Villa, including the winner against us I seem to remember, 10 and 19 in the previous seasons. Our top scorer was 5 last season.

Most of those goals resulted in getting some half decent service. Not something we particularly excel at.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

And there's a good point, in a addition to getting a proven striker (or two) we are in desperate need of a quality attacking midfielder. Can't say I've heard of us linked strongly with one so far.
