Don’t slaughter me but I would like to ask a question. I didn’t have this forum when Pardew was boss. I’ve been a fan for over 40 years and other than the coppell years it was the best (and most nerve shredding) football we’ve played. We had cup run to the final. I have to ask, were we that bad under him? Pullis was ok, BFS got us out of trouble but neither wanted to be here. Roy did a job but I was at the point of stopping watching with his football. Somebody on here said the best candidate for manager is somebody that actually wants the job and there doesn’t seem to be anyone like that at the moment. I’m not saying Pardew should come back, I just really want to know what the problem was. I think there was a bad spell and given time he may or may not have gotten through it … we will never know. I do know we are absolutely no better now than when he was in charge. I just want to enjoy watching Palace again. Like everyone on here I watched where Eagles dare and I miss that spirit. It was like the 91 team. I don’t give a monkeys who the manager is as long as it’s good to watch again, it’s been dire for far too long.

After beating Stoke away to go 5th in December 2015 when Bolasie got injured our league form fell off a cliff. We managed 27 points from 37 games over the next year when he was sacked in December 2016. During this period the team appeared unfit and disorganised. In fairness to him we were going down when he took over from Warnock in December 2014 and he turned things around dramatically and had us playing some great football. Glen Murray and Jason Puncheon in particular really found their mojo.

Latest doing the rounds on Twitter is that Parish is seriously considering giving it to Derry. What a scary thought. It would buy them time I guess. Just with all the other guff that’s gets written it’s almost certainly nonsense [Tweet Link]

I dare say I might actually be a better chairman than Parish with his bizarre approach to transfers, inability to run proper managerial searches, and so on. Who knows I might even be on dragons den by now. Wow just wow! Seriously don’t know what fans like you expect.

They could have chosen a better idea. Genuinely rather Derry than Dougie or Silva. That's about it.

I enjoyed quite a few games with Hodgson, football can be incredibly boring no matter who you watch, Hodgson achieved everything that was desired with regard to us being in this league and with the knowledge and understanding of what he brings to the game.
