Well the fact is (not my opinion), Wilf hasn’t submitted a transfer request, he’s stated in the past he would like to play champions league football and to be honest, would like to see him play on the so called big stage.

Arsenal are miles away from the top 4 and I can’t see why this season it will be different, they made a ridiculous offer in this market of 40 mill paid over x amount of years, we’re flatly turned down and been silent ever since.

If Wilf wants to leave he should hand in a transfer request, stop pissing around and move on ..... ffs

I do t think that he should hand in a transfer request. I’d like to think that over 15 years of affiliation with the club would mean that the relationship shouldn’t break down that far even if he wants to go. In my opinion he is handling it impeccably so far. He wants to go but he hasn’t said much at all to the media and even dodged questions when I’m AFCON. I think this is almost certainly his last season here and as I hope Arsenal get CL football at the end of it so he can join the club he supports and be around his family. Nothing but love for Wilf from me.

Its all very well valuing Wilf at £80m. However, as Palace fans we have always been biased on just how good he really is.
If he was that valuable, there would be a number of clubs coming in with higher offers, but there haven’t been any.
Wilf is a maverick. He is a bit of a loose cannon which doesn’t work these days for a lot of the top clubs. He should really consider this, and consider what happened when he went to a top club.
From our perspective, apparently he wants to move on now so let him go. If he stays under duress it won’t be good.
As much as we all love Wilf and for us he is a super star, he probably won’t fetch more than £50m, so the deal Arsenal are apparently talking re cash and players we should seriously consider.
Wan was such an easy sale by comparison and that was fraught. In Wilf’s case we are leaving it very late to secure alternatives
With Wilfred gone we will undoubtedly need incoming players up front to stay up. I just hope our current last minute approach to the transfer window doesn’t finally catch us out.
With Wilf, Wan and Bats gone, arguably our best three players last season and no replacements we will be struggling.
I’m sure we are trying, but we need to try harder. Time is not on our side now.

lets say for example we sell wilf for £80m, lets say for example spread over 3 seasons as most clubs pay in instalments.

at that price we owe united £18.5m, would this be paid in instalments or would it have to be paid in 1 go?

if we do a player involved deal, do we only owe united for the cash received or is the value of the player added into the deal.

because if we sold wilf for £80m over 3 years and had to pay united up front we would barely have any money left from the deal this summer to replace him.

If Wilf ever was to leave I think the deal should include Sorloth. Sell Wilf for 1m and Sorloth for 79m. Then United get no sell on

It's getting boring now. They either have the money, or they don't, and we're not moving.

1) £80m+ in cash up front.
2) £60m+ in cash up front with Iwobi or Nelson on a permanent.

Bid it by midnight tomorrow, or don't contact us again.

100% but I'd add another 5m onto both values as they've already taken too long. At the start of the window that may have been acceptable.

Also tell them for every bid they go under an extra 5m will be added due to them pissing about.

Interesting view from someone on Talksport yesterday - ex player - can't remember who.
The obvious one was that you don't really want an unhappy player on the books which may or may not be the case come the start of the season but the other was that Wilf is probably at his most valuable right now and that maybe £50m plus maybe a bit more is his real value (whereas to us it is obviously more) and that if we don't take it now then in a year or so and with his contract shortening we may not reap the right reward.
We have to move on at some point - why not now?
Don't get me wrong - I do not want him to leave but if he really wants to then if we could get Arsenal to £60m - be that in cash only or cash plus players (that we want) then we should do the deal and bite the bullet.

Show me the direct direct quote where he is whining!

I've seen nothing beyond a vague Daily Mail article in which he expresses the ambition to (one day) play in the Champions League. This is the spark fanned by lazy journalists into a "transfer request". Meanwhile Wilf is on holiday.

To be fair, Zaha himself may have been fairly quiet, beyond some cryptic posts on social media, but his 'clan', be they relative, agent or whatever, have had a major part in fanning the flames on this story. There's nothing stopping Zaha setting the record straight if he wishes, and it may be that his silence is actually speaking volumes.

If we let this remain unresolved until Zaha gets back from paddling and building sand castles in Dubai, there will only be a week to the deadline, which wouldn't do us any favours if he does go.

£50 mil? £60 mil should’ve been Arsenal’s starting bid in the first place. Taking £50 mil now would be suicide.

If we sell him to Bayern Munich for 80 million it will be job done. Then if he bends over the owners fraulein and it all goes belly up, we buy him back for 40 million!
Everyone’s a winner and we don’t have all the mucking about with Arsenal, because let’s be honest it’s getting tedious now...

How generous of them

I would tell them to take a running jump.
