Perhaps; it's just as likely that most of the audience is liking what he says. Given the way the BBC has sniped away at Labour during the campaign (just read Laura Kuessenberg's comments every day for evidence), I doubt the Beeb would have gone out of its way to rig things in Jezza's favour. Not that 100 people in a hall in Cambridge will have much bearing on a general election. Edited by Mr_Gristle (31 May 2017 8.55pm) Shame most of his MPs don't like what he says - if they did, perhaps we could take him more seriously. tho

Seriously even if you are the most loyal Tory in the world, how can anyone possibly defend Theresa May not participating in this leaders debate? I think it's a disgrace for anyone to claim they are the strongest leader yet too weak and scared to debate anyone. Mental

Wasn't the programme opened with a clear statement of how "a well known polling agency" had carefully selected the audience to be as balanced as possible? I agree with you that May was wise to stay away - Amber Rudd is being monstered but it's not her who's the figurehead of the Tory campaign.

How arrogant can you be to just decide "na don't fancy that". I still think the Tories will win comfortably but I think the women is weak as anything.

Mental She has more sense than to stand amongst those other idiots that cannot debate and with the "hand" picked audience it makes it all one big joke.

Is she a disgrace too.

Sturgeon wasn't there either, can anyone possibly defend her? Is she a disgrace too. She's not PM and from what I can remember hasn't explicitly refused to attend any TV debate. If Sturgeon holds the same position then yes she is also an embarrassment but Theresa May far more. This is the women who's whole campaign is based around a strong government and weak opposition, she literally has nothing else to stand on. Yet she refuses to ever answer a question, performs u turn after u turn and doesn't even have the guts to stand up and debate, mainly the man she has done nothing but insult since becoming PM. It's sad that so many people feel they don't have any alternative to her and sad that the British people feel they have to put up with someone who shows such contempt and arrogance. She's called a general election on that she's made clear she has no intention of fighting, arrogantly trusting that throwing s*** at Corbyn will be enough for her mandate. Sorry state of affairs.
