France and the Nordic countries are increasingly voting for right and hard-right parties due to the problems created by the liberal/left parties and the EU. Interesting. Could offer any detail on these problems and of increased voting for right and hard right? It should probably be compared with how such parties have fared comparatively with their counterparts elsewhere in Europe. I believe in all cases the incumbent ruling parties or alliances are left of centre? I would also point out that the Nordics especially sit very high on every ranking of quality of life, in spite of any problems, and this is perhaps the most concrete comparison we have of the impact of such policies compared with more right wing and laissez faire policies.

However the Scandinavian aspect is an interesting one....though its immigration policies are causing rising discontent.....But it does consistently vote left or centralist...Perhaps it's something to do with the regional culture...I don't know. May will be coated on the debate tonight, from all parties. Why won't she defend herself and her policies? Corbyn has played a blinder. Make or break tonight. It's a shame almost none of his party support him. Too much of a Communist for even the Left. Food for thought.

I'm voting Green, because they actually responded to local issues such as closures of the Arthur Hill Swimming Pool, Children centres (9 of the 13) and The After Dark. Which I supported. The Green Party have just the one MP and even if you didn't know it wouldn't be hard to guess that it was in Brighton where the quirky inhabitants are happy to vote for an equally quirky party. The Greens also controlled Brighton council until they made such an almighty mess of it that at the next elections the quirky locals couldn't take any more and went back to Labour. Brighton under the Greens came almost bottom of the councils' recycling league as their record was so poor. So much for the environmentally friendly party

I can remember when there were strong, forceful politicians on both sides - people who actually believed something and fought passionately and persuasively for it. Where are the politicians with the stature of a Thatcher, Benn, Healey, Callaghan, Tebbitt, Shore or even a Major, Kinnock or Foot? Conviction politicians, all of them. Now, it's a choice of a party that is in the thrall of faceless corporate interests, is conceited and utterly non-caring and unashamedly feathers the nests of its own or a party that is run by extra-terrestrial lunatics with only the slenderest grasp of reality, be it economic, social or political. Both parties are stuffed full of under-achievers, nobodies, chancers, the certifiable and egotists with the gravitas and credibility of a cow turd. Both will lead this country into an abyss. Neither of them truly care about "the people" who vote for them. To them, "the people" are objects of scorn and derision. I hold both May and Corbyn (and all their acolytes) in utter contempt. I am truly an equal opportunities 'hater'. Edited by Cucking Funt (31 May 2017 3.55pm)

But on the afternoon of the event, Mr Corbyn confirmed he would take part, and criticised the Tories for what he called "a stage-managed arms-length campaign". "Refusing to join me in Cambridge tonight would be another sign of Theresa May's weakness, not strength," he added.

The latest poll is another attempt at scaremongering from the notoriously right leaning youguv. Having said that it is remarkable how sh*t this campaign has been by May. She is probably going to be out of a job some point after this election. She has lost so much support from her own MPs by mugging them off while they were out defending policies that she had scrapped. She has probably the easiest chance at an overwhelming victory and because she has produced a crap manifesto and has all the charisma of my inferior right testicle she will probably only gain a handful of seats and Tory backbenchers are already plotting their assassination attempts.
