If woke were hippies with a social conscience then while there may be disagreement there wouldn't be much discord.

However, what you portray here isn't the reality that's clearly being shown in the thread examples.

Being kind to others is one thing....in general few people have a problem with politeness.

However, being told to accept and endorse someone else's social and political perspectives isn't kindness....it isn't politeness....it's the opposite. When social conservativism ruled this land you were still allowed to be a communist and work....There were no activists going around trying to get people sacked and writing letters.....Now that's kindness and politeness....but that's not what 'woke' is selling is it.....Now all of a sudden 'hate and division' is fine.

They aren't interested in a marketplace of ideas because they have closed their stalls.

Being told you have to accept and endorse children being taught about homosexuality isn't politeness it's forced political dogma.

Being told that being white means you're various degrees of evil, isn't politeness or kindness it's forced political dogma.

Being told you have to accept and endorse people telling you they are cats or a different sex or other mental construct they want to believe in....that isn't politeness or kindness it's forced political dogma.

People are sacked and refused jobs because they have different political positions.....that isn't kindness....that's political dogma dressed up with warm words.

he is anti woke ? in other words, he is normal. I never thought it would be such a crime or an affront to be normal.

you hear of employees of Tech giants having to attend compulsory indoctrination sessions....all the while keeping their mouth shut and saying nothing.

Very good post Stirling. It’s time for the normal working man to push back hard against these crazy agendas. The even crazier part of all this is that 99.99% of people don’t agree with these ideas and yet the 0.01% dictates the policy. We have to take part of the blame I suppose for allowing them to worm their way into positions where they can do it.

The difference between us and them is that we tend to concentrate on doing our jobs well and conscientiously whereas they tend to concentrate on getting themselves into positions of authority where they can screw everything up for everyone else.

Exactly. Too often corporations and Public Service create jobs that are nothing but virtue signalling exercises to show the public they care about an issue.

People are entitled to be treated fairly regardless of race \ gender \ identity etc. However this is the responsibility of management and HR to ensure they have policies to address this and to act when someone is treated unfairly.

You do not need to have separate departments or job functions e.g. Race Relations Advisor to do this. In fact when you create a specific job the person is hardly likely to tell you "nothing to see here". If the NHS appointed a Hedgehog advocate no doubt that person would tell you the NHS has a massive hedgehog problem and they need more resources.

Eventually the penny will drop that corporations are wasting resources on non jobs, I am not convinced though that Public Services will follow suit.

Now about this hedgehog problem...
