Would be nice if we could offer a little prize/incentive to the first person to spot any sign of something happening. There won't be any 'irish' building the stand, it'll be all east europeans.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Yep, spot on, it will be this time next year construction starts in earnest at the earliest. Originally posted by Elpis
If it was happening this summer work should have started . As SP said there needs to be some prep work under the stand along with changing rooms being moved to under the Holmesdale . Next year , maybe .

Just like Fulham, which still hasn't fully opened. I can't see them demolishing the old stand and fitting the seating in a summer close season. More like a whole season nowadays. So if we are lucky, this decade. Edited by dreamwaverider (24 May 2024 12.48am)

Same the way he paid our debts and high wages with the Wan Bissaka sale.

The stand needs to be complete before the next Euro in 2028. To miss out on maybe being one of the grounds for that would be very poor. Already many bad decisions but the positives I do believe it will happen just a case of when. Our clubs is always behind and takes so long to do anything this has to be down to SP.

That’s the capacity of Stamford Bridge and the smallest capacity of the nine teams we finished below. Presumably you think SP should have increased ours to that by now. Good luck finding an architect who can stick another 13,000 into Selhurst Park. Oh and we finished above every single club in the country with a smaller ground than Chelsea.

On Page 3 of this thread SW19 has a broad strokes summary of the work involved & about 60% of the way down the page says that the work is expected to start sometime about now & take between 27-30 months. Also on the ground capacity - When the earlier outline was released it was billed as a 2 stage development - stage 1 being ground capacity 25,400 increased to 33,000 (ish) with a second stage upgrade being possible as & when it was deemed appropriate to increase capacity to 40,000- I would imagine that all efforts at the moment are going to be focussed on stage 1, (i.e) getting it built & the additional seats / corporate boxes sold to prove we can fill the ground before anyone gives any real efforts to any stage 2 development.

It doesn't matter what size it is, there no chance of ever being selected for Euros, as transport links are a nightmare. You cant blame SP for that, no matter how you try.
