There's been plenty of Wall fans trying to defend the booing saying it's because of taking the knee supporting BLM 'which is a Marxist organisation'. A few have then gone on to make the rather disingenuous statement that we should be clapping the NHS instead. That would be the same NHS that was founded by Aneurin Bevan. A Marxist. I find that quite an amusing irony. I don't agree with homophobic chanting, but the rent boy chant does seem to be getting more attention in the media than perhaps it should as it seems little more than a play on the fact Gallagher keeps getting loaned out. Having said that I do agree with the stance of clubs to condone it as if you don't it opens the door to worse chants. Personally I think any fan found guilty of racist or homophobic chants should be made to apologise to Vieira face to face. After they've cleaned their underwear I doubt they'll ever utter an offensive word again. Does that mean Palace fans also have to apologise too Vieira after Brighton v Palace games.

Aye, right enough I recall hearing racist chants coming from our lot right up until the time when Wright and Bright took it on and made our crowd change its ways Originally posted by Casual
I expect that Connor wouldn’t give a monkeys about being called a rent boy, would have gone home last night and slept with his 10/10 Mrs. The majority of football songs are nonsense. Everyone gets lumped into ‘your lot’ and ‘our lot’ The generation before mine were happy calling people ‘ black c*nts’ , my generation there’s a large percentage that would say ‘ don’t be a poof mate’ , in a generations time it will all be over, no will call people out for being fat or ginger, the worlds changing. And judging by what I saw yesterday so are millwall, they will be the last to go, probably with Pompey/Cardiff/Leeds etc.

The worst racist chanting I’ve heard by palace fans was at Wembley directed towards Andy gray when he went to villa at Wembley in the mercantile credit classic tournament
walking down the holmesdale road to see the palace aces! |

Been to both test match match and one day international cricket. Many fans asleep in their seats after a liquid lunch. Never seen someone asleep at a Palace match. England rugby at Twickenham - 3 rounds of swing low sweet chariot and nothing else. Most people seem to be there for the drink up afterwards. Amazed at how little noise 90,000 people can generate - worse than the Emirates for atmosphere. Club rugby even more pitiful, played out in front of half empty grounds. Looking forward to Millwall appointing someone to lead their investigation into the homopohobic chanting, providing a date by when their investigation will be completed, and the actual number of fans subsequently given a lifetime ban for their participation. I am taking a wild guess that the outcome will find not one person guilty as charged. Just saying the right thing for something that is something that is not really an issue. I would rather Millwall did something about the open racism that they seem to just brush under the carpet.

It’s the way football is played now. In 5 years time it will just be the way the game is played universally with the modern footballer and youngsters playing this way. Amateur and youth teams play like this or are attempting to play this way currently. There are more players/defenders who are comfortable on the ball. It is but why? For sure Butland was trying to ‘be comfortable on the ball’ rather than hoof it straight up the pitch and that’s what led to their goal.

No, he had a mad moment, when you can see there were two players he could have comfortably played the ball to feet. It happens, but we (he) got out of jail so that's that.

Whether for or against BLM and all the extended meanings associated with it, either applaud it or wait the 5 seconds until its over and shut the f**k up. Booing it in this day and age is pathetic - typical Millwall. As for targetting Connor as a Chelsea Rent Boy - he is from Epsom as I understand it, not Chelsea, he has not played a first team game for Chelsea, he is currently plying his trade at Palace, he has never as far as I aware applied himself as a Rent Boy. The chants are meaningless. They may be offensive, but that is the point. 'Sacked in the morning', '...f**king useless' etc etc are all offensive to the recipient, but essentially meaningless. It is a football match FFS, it that is offensive to anyone then go and watch rugby or cricket, with all the passionless, could-not-care-less-about-the-result attitude that goes with it. I am aware this view will not be appreciated by some, but I would rather my football experience is not like a tourist trip to the Premier League theme park that a day out at Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea and West Ham has become. Yeah, we all know what Millwall tend to be like, but it is rather ironic, and a typical double standard, when one can be criticized for making a public expression in response to another. You either accept both or neither in a free country. I'm not one for booing, but one should have the right to if they have to endure the ridiculous sight of men taking a knee because most have been given no choice, particularly if they happen to be White.

this was a typical FA cup match lower club vs a higher club , Millwall started of well, deserved there goal but not like that , rule 1 of clearing your lines kick the ball the way you are facing so we give them a throw in, not a gift in front of goal , but both our keepers are not to clever with there feet bring back Nigel. overall we are in the 4th round that is all that counts , and the last time we beat Millwall in the cup we went on the best ever FA cup run to the semis in 1976 , before the kids jump in on that we was a third division team so it was a bigger achievment , hold tight it may happen again and this time we win the F**king thing before i die COYP

One thing this game made me realise is what a big part Kouyate has been playing for us. He must be the most undervalued player at Palace and half the posts don’t even like him. He must be one of the reasons Vieiras new style of very attractive football is working so well. Edited by dreamwaverider (10 Jan 2022 7.51am)

He takes a lot of stick, but you could see the difference without him. He wins the battles in the air - does all the dirty work in the middle of the park and provides protection to our central defenders.
