Why didn't they apply the same standards when they signed Ferguson?

It can't make Kelly feel great that the management have so little faith in him as cover

He has looked uncomfortable in both full-back positions and he prefers to play in central defence.

But even there Roy has chosen to play Kouyate rather than trust Kelly. It does make me wonder why we have kept him? Maybe he is on low wages? Seems a solid professional though.

Uncomfortable is a rather flattering discription of his performances at left back prior to PVA arriving.

Although, can't fault his commitment. Being asked to play out of position and getting grief for it can't be an enjoyable experience.

I assume it is because he has behaved like a model professional and played where he has been needed. Teams need players like that.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

6'3" and not blessed with speed, much better at centre back, it's a testament to him that he'll play out of position.

I am sure, when he receives his monthly wages, he will get over it. Circa £200k a month sitting on the bench with the occasional run out.

Hopefully, it's a Wilf type return. I wouldn't like to have the memory of the young Clyne ruined.

Wilf didn't leave it 10 years to return.
